Chewing gum removal tips has some old wives' type

methods which should work.

Otherwise, I'm sure you're local supermarket will have something!

Only Smint's allowed in mine , that's because I eat them :D

could be worse my wife smoked in mine... i went up the wall.

was never allowed to eat in the car when we were kids.

as a student, i vividly remember the sense of freedom i felt eating chocolate in my renault 5.........................

......and the sense of idiocy when i one day found a bloody great mass of melted chocolate in it!!

never again for this and future generations of hucks and/or huckettes.

As a father of a (soon to be) 3year old I have let him have juice and snacks. Was concerned about what black currant would do to tthose white inserts .......

.....however I put a big towel (beach size) under nippers car seat and so far no worries. Mind you that doesn't stop him putting his grubby feet on the back of the passenger seat:mad: ........you win some, you lose some.

Recommend baby wet wipes to clean the leather.

Cheers.

Not in flames, I hope? (That's one of the unadvertised drawbacks of drinking spirits rather than wine or beer.) :D

They can also be used on babies' bottoms in an emergency. Oh, and to clean your hands after changing a wheel....

Meths dissolves gum - I used it on my mat a couple of nights ago - it seems to work fine

Welcome Rob:cheers:

Meths does work... i have used this before..

Nearly missed you in the middle of that thread. If you have been visiting for some time you will know the topics to avoid, ie colour, model, transmission, N/S etc. Enjoy yourself. :D

ive had it in and out of the freezer a few times now, scrapped most of it away but theres still some remaining. It was not completely frozen to a point where it would crack off. I will try wd 40-is there anything in particular i should pull the gum of with?

your teeth?:D

:D Day tripper...it is dead easy to remove. Use IPA (Isopropanolalcohol). Just wipe over it and it will dissolve the gum. The dry and rinse with some soapy water to remove the heavy aroma of the IPA. If you need it done I can do in September or email and I will sell you a wee bit to help you out.

dont suppose my idea of a large hammer and a chisel will go down well then

hello, where can i buy this ipa? i take it your a swissol rep?

Think most DIY stores will do it...

Rob.

Take lighter fluid (Benzine) This is the flamable liquid that you use to recharge your lighter.......... Just wipe this liquid over the gum and it will dissolve the gum. The benzine will not damage your Mat.

If you dont belive me, just try a little of benzine on a small part of your trunk mat and you will see it not damage your mat.

I have use this method several times and always succes:D

Good luck,

Isaac

How about an ice cube...

- Rub the ice cube on the gum and it should just flake/roll off.

A bit like putting it in the freezer but a bit more practical.
