Might as well buy a Ford Fusion on which my then 12 year old son commented (when I worked for Ford): "Dad, what's this car for - when you could have a perfectly good Fiesta for the same money. Tell them to give you back your Puma instantly".

Wait until you see the baby Ford SUV that was launched in concept form yesterday. Now this is pig ugly with the smallest wheels ever on a concept car.

I like the HRV! Economical engine, part-time 4x4, looks might be a marmite thing, but overall package is good and last time I look, they start from less than £1k on autotrader.

They did an updated version called the crossroad

Anyway, I thought the CRV was based on the Civic anyway.

Re the Crossroad: I've seen one of these in London somewhere. A light blue one. Not too bad looking, very wide and low. One thing I can't stand however is when doors go into the roof line like that!!!!! What a messy detail that causes all around.

Bring back the Honda Element I say.

I think I'm gonna be sick...excuse me

Seems very good value to me...

I like them - simple design, well executed. They also made them in a coupé version:

Hopefully the Civic version mentioned above will look more restrained and like a new take on the HR-V rather than the jacked up spaceship AutoExpress is suggesting...

My mum drives this exact car,the coupe version, in silver too, petrol automatic cvt 4x4 of sorts, drives like an electric car, put your foot down and there are not jerks from the transmission.

Its a w registration so coming up for 22 years old!!! She refuses to change it in as its only done 26k miles and isn't too keen on getting used to a new car as she is 75. It has been utterly reliable, the car that is, and sails through it MOT each year.

You sure its; 22 years old.

I thought the W reg was 2000?

Honda didn't produce the HRV in 1980!

And maybe not even in 1990.

I was just about to say the same thing! That makes it 12 years old! :giggle: :giggle:

Ooops, 12 years old, was probably doing it a favour as its now beginning to look 20 years old!emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Our Little old 1.4 Fezza is on a R-reg 1998 plate. It's our little work horse and we wouldn't change it for the world.

It does approx 800 miles a year, it's the 2nd car, only used when the Mondeo is not available through work.

The heater doesn't work properly (Fan is either full speed or off and cannot change the direction of the air blows onto screen, feet and vents at the same time due to a broken flap, temp is controllable though).

But it's only got a tiny amount of rust on the rear arches, starts first time every time even after being left for a month.

In the last 5 years it's cost us £820.00 to MOT and Service (Inc 4 new tyres)passes the MOT first time everytime.

Just goes to show that if you get a goodun they should be treasured, until they finally die.

I'm glad the Yeti has an always on Haldex 4x4 system and not the selectable kind this Pug/Citroën sports:

We have the safety of 4x4 all the time with the car being a 2wd automatically and sending the power wherever it is needed. Never a wheel chirps from too much power applied or anything. Will anyone ever put this Pug/Citroën in 4x4 mode other then when driving down a farm track once in a blue moon? Yet they lug around the weight ALL the time. Nope. We have the safety of 4x4 all the time.
