yeah it was really good. I think the track would be really boring in the dry though

Still got the weights off the rear? If so how did the car fair in the turns? Any loss from the back end ?

Haha, I figured this would spring up!

No issues what so ever.

The only oversteer issue I had was down to the the DSG changing from 3rd to 4th itself when as i was approaching the exit of Gerrards which is a very long sweeping bend with an exit speed in the wet of 85-90mph. \Even then it wasnt a large amount of oversteer Keep the pedal buried and steer out with no issues.

Also my rear tyres have considerably less tread than the fronts after I swapped them over, so if anything that would have made the oversteer more likely, so if it was fine like that, then i see no worries. Id still like the rear to be a bit more active tbh. twichy is fast :o

Why have you put yours back on?

Cheers for the info mate

I really don't have any room currently for them in the shed and my parents would kill me for keeping them in my room  will sort out the shed as soon as the weather gets better

Shame about the conditions. It still looked like you had fun - Shame about some of the comments on the Pistonheads thread though.

I still see more people not paying attention to the faster drivers and moving over when it's safe to do so.

Didn't know Mallory Park was such a small twisty circuit. Seemed to handle very well.

Conditions looked awful like Rob said. Bit of a shame. Where's the PH thread? I never bother look on PH anymore....

Looks like you need some new windscreen wipers :p

Good vids Simon , you need G4 G2 and then G1 on your glass, you would not need your wipers on then

The wet conditiobs made it better I think. In the dry I think mallory would be boring

I've watched someone in front of me lose their tuned Almera diesel at a wet & cold Mallory and stuff it into both barriers (on each side of the circuit exiting the long right hander) - I would take a dry day any time :D I definitely preferred my day at Mallory back in 2005 when the weather was good, compared to that day early last year.

Both wet and dry is fun in their own ways. In the dry you can push the boundries and in the wet you can have alot off fun x).

It was a day of incidents for sure. And they were always track prepped stiff cars that went off.

Caged/stripped 106 at gerrards twice

Caged/stripped austin mastro trackday trophy car twice

Caged/stripped Clio Cup Race car plowed straight on at the hairpin and spanked the barrier

Caged/stripped 205 GTI at Gerrards

A couple MX-5s came off at various points.

Open topped caterham style kit cars were coming off all around the circuit.

The maestro dropped its oil on gerrards as well as dragging mud onto the circuit, which of coursedoesnt help the situation.

I think the fact the Std fabia setup is so soft made it so easy to drive at speed in the wet as it was forgiving.

Ive done 2 dry days at Rockingham in mine now both of which suffered with tyres going off and brakes overheating. None of those issues at Mallory in the wet I was happily pumping in 10+ laps at a time. Rockingham was only around 5 laps as its alot harder on brakes and tyres.

Thats some serious wet conditions! Still giving it some thou so fair play! I'd be scared to loose it in the corners in those puddles!

Did I read somewhere that you had the map taken off? And why? :S may be wrong thou

When I went round Combe in the wet, I put TC on in the pits just as we were going out, as I wasn't sure how it would fair in the wet. It was on alllll the time :D Lots of sliding but that was on Dunlops with about 4mm left.

I didn't feel too bad afterwards when Big Gray told me he had his TC on as well. Was fun driving behind him for a little while :p

It was a bit sketchy in the mongrel - it was damp, foggy and about 2 or 3 degrees C, so not nice at all! I remember braking for the hairpin after Gerrards and finding the back wheels kept wanting to come past the front on either side - not a pleasant sensation at all!

Any sound clips from outside the car? Drive past etc.?

Cheers

Dont see the point tbh. Those vids never reflect the actual sound of a car anyway. My car won't be loud anyway, tbh I hate loud cars, id rather a car be quiet and not shout out that its quick or modified.

Mine is slightly louder than stock

Girlfriend has one. Thinking stage 1 and decat

With a "proper" camera (not a ****ty cellphone-cam) will make the sound justice.

Mine for instance is this with a decent cellphone-cam and it's very close to the real deal :
