How much will they load your insurance now you will have a race car! :giggle:

I not expecting to save money on my renewal. Before wasn't so kuch of an issue, but now there's a big power hike when its done of around 100hp so ill be taking one for the teaM then. For some reason they charge loads to cover an intercooler. Chassis work is cheap to cover though

Whats everyones thoughts on my brakes.

I have a 330mm 4 pot kit going in there that i think are Red as standard. Shall i get the painted black so it blends in with the wheel, or paint them white to match the black/white theme, or leave them as red?

White might look good as a contrast, get some vRS decals for the calipers maybe?

What spacers you using for the brakes Sy? Seeing 330mm discs under 17" wheels will look better than the splitter imo.

Go with red. Black and you'll never see them. White is just an odd colour plus it'll show up the dirt/dust etc. Red is where it's at

i think the small bit of black looks the best there. as for brakes go for red or something really mad like highvis green. red looks good on pretty much everything!

Got to agree with this

Red is the way to go imo, matches the OEM-looks aswell!

You have a white/black car so it's hard to match it since white will look like **** after the first touch on the pedal and black won't stand out.

What about tinting the side-indicators too? I know it's just a small thing, but I think it could be cool for contrast!!

And imo : go for blackpack + the little strip in the middle.

How would it look with a black hood tho... :)

I like the middle , not full Black splitter and the Black lights, why not go VRS Green for the calipers,

Being fair I like the look of your car as it is. Doing too much may spoil the overall effect of the cars look.

I agree.

The more stock it looks the better the surprise.

No issues what so ever.

The only oversteer issue I had was down to the the DSG changing from 3rd to 4th itself when as i was approaching the exit of Gerrards which is a very long sweeping bend with an exit speed in the wet of 85-90mph. \Even then it wasnt a large amount of oversteer Keep the pedal buried and steer out with no issues.

Also my rear tyres have considerably less tread than the fronts after I swapped them over, so if anything that would have made the oversteer more likely, so if it was fine like that, then i see no worries.  Id still like the rear to be a bit more active tbh. twichy is fast emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

Why have you put yours back on?

I found out if ou push the gearstick over to manual the paddles still work and then the dsg never automatically takes over on track so then should limit your oversteer;)

Even with the stick over, eventually if you don't shift and the car is hitting high revs the car will automatically change up

vRS Powered is right. I have my car in manual on the 1/4 mile and on track and it still does auto change towards the redline, normally i used to change before that point as the turbo was runs out of steam at about 5500-6000rpm but now, since i have a better turbo which makes good power upto 7000rpm i have this issue.

It perhaps needs the DSG map altering

The autochange is the least of the DSG worries at the moment. The cars having to run low boost at the moment to stop me hitting the torque limiters on the DSG. Im now running less boost than i was at stage 2. If we cant sort out a DSG remap it will render this turbo a very expensive mod for £/bhp. Granted im still making really good power even on low boost but when they turn the boost up another 0.4 bar were looking at another 20-30Hp as im on a really low tame setup right now.

Ive had a few runs on the carriage way with the full boost map and it is really really quick. Provided i keep the revs above 4k it stays off the limiters so i have to stay in the lowest gear i can. If i try and use the torque in a higher gear at lower speed it hits the torque limiters and completely cuts the power.

Once the DSG map is sorted though....

Ever wish you'd have purchased a faster car as standard. I know I do but Id prob want to make the faster car even faster lol. If you ever in my neck of the woods you will have to take me out for a spin

Not really mate. Oriinally i had only planned to have it as a stop gap car as i was working away alot but ive found that this car is perfect for me. 40mpg round town, 50mpg on the motorway, performance to embarrass a Mk2 Focus RS, cheap tax, cheap insurance, cheap tyres which means i get to do even more trackdays. Drives like its stock when i want it to, drives like an animal when provoked.

and tbh Ive not spent a huge amount on modifications either. Ive had 3 maps and have only had to pay for one of them, so ive been lucky on that front. Ive had a free intercooler and radiator for being a development car, so all ive had to pay for or am paying for oer the next month is suspension, brakes and a turbo.

I paid £14.5k for this car. Modification wise once the next few things are sorted it will only have pushed my total expenditure on the car to around £17.5-18k. That less than the normal proice of this car, and i guarantee you cannot find another car on the market that will have the same power/performance/economy/running costs as this for any less.

Plus if i had a faster car id still do all this anyway. I like modifying.

My only issue is the car looks gay  The big bonus is the wife likes this one. The octavia was to big for her tbh

So you think that your car want to have sexual intercourse with other cars off the same gender x)?

So you think that your car want to have sexual intercourse with other cars off the same gender x)?

The car is only a vessel to transport the owner who does want to 'engage' members of the same sex.

Also the car looks gay so this is why it's called the Homomobile. ;)

Christ this will be one quick panda!!

I prefer option "3" black pack with the narrow black spoiler.
