Featured Replies

Hello good people of BriSkoda

My first post :) don't be to harsh...

Looking to get my first Skoda Superb, cuently with Honda Acorrd (avid follower of Rotodiesel's tips and tricks) looking for 1.9 PD 130 MANUAL. Please spare moment and check current offer in my price range. I will be grateful for your advice and suggestions

Choice one

Guy did all of his service ( allegedly ex mechanic, did sort water ingress car was wet, everything working ( all internal lighting etc....) was surprised when asked for water in the passenger area.... no full SH

Choice Two

Went there to see the car, misunderstanding, about meating time ( whole operation is run remotely , cars are scatter around and you phone for viewing time ( did not meet the dealer, or starting the car but spent 30 min looking around the car), get scared with rust

Alarm started when i spotted 3 water drops on the driver seat, and one hanging from sun shield, (i presume from bad sunroof rubber seal)

Last one

Choice Three

So if you have couple minutes to spare, check the link, help with advice i will be grateful

Regards

Zoka

P.S. Regardless of my choice or your suggestion, I will still need extra, super, ultra, reliable and cheap Independent VW garage in Christal Palace(London SE20 area)so please post the link or address.

i would go for num. one

the 3rd is dull the 2nd is to much to worry about but 1st is about right

Remember to check for water under the passenger side footwell.

Number 1 looks nice

Number 2 Avoid

Number 3 Looks nice, newer, looks like its a dealer so more haggling area and possible back up??? Cambelt???

the 3rd is dull

:o isnt it the same colour as Baker21's car? his car looks far from dull, as seen HERE!

and number 1 is an Elegance too

You mention your worry about rust on your 2nd option.

The water on the seat and on the sun visor is more probably from a leaking windscreen than sunroof. It took AA windscreens 3 efforts to properly seal my screen - a tiny flake of rust at the top of the w/screen frame was the eventual cause of my leak. I'm glad it dripped on to the (leather) seat rather than on to the carpet - I would have been chasing around for the usual cause of damp carpets!

But on account that you know all about the infamous water ingress problem they will all suffer from if left to their own devices due to the plenum chamber & pollen filter design you have already resealed it up and removed the grommets anyway ....no??
