RIP Marco

Chilling accident, will be a great loss to Moto gp, loved the way he raced.

Very sad news. So young and such talent. What on earth is happening to racing events of late?

RIP.

It was a horrendous crash, and he will be greatly missed on the grid. RIP. emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Such a great loss, RIP

Terrible crash - Rip Simoncelli.

You used to race just like me :(

RIP Marco!

the two riders who hit him will feel terrible. Not their fault though, they really had nowhere to go. These things tend to come in pairs though. Roland Ratzenberger died in practice the day before Senna. It's almost as though the first death puts doubts in peoples' minds, leading indirectly to another accident.

I will miss watching him race as he was such a big bloke and character compared to many of the small chaps he rode against he could be fantastic and a great example of the big circa 70 kilo guy with gangly arms and legs against the 50 kilo jockeys.

Feel very sorry for Colin and Valentino who I do not think could have missed Marco but must feel terrible.

Not sure what more could have been done to protest him. Air bag collars and race suits but a freak accident.

Hope they do something special at Valencia to honour him, even Lorenzo who has been a big critic.

He was the bright new star. Very sad indeed.

It is a sad loss, but he rode to the limit and beyond, especially in Moto GP, which he never really mastered

Stupid age to go though, so much life left to live :(

RIP Marco =[

RIP Marco.

Fanatastic rider who wasn't afraid to go beyond the limit.

Racing is as safe as it can be nowadays, but you can't avoid freak accidents. I feel sorry for both Edwards and Rossi, especially Rossi as he was apparently good friends with Marco.

Another bike race accident so close to the British bike one last month.

Very sad yet another rising star goes so soon.

RIP marco

sad sad day!

can't help but feel this could be the end of racing for Valo too :(

A true tragedy. I really don't see what Colin and Vale could have done to avoid Marco spinning back into their path though.

R I P Marco, A World Champion of the Future, a very Sad Loss

Gutted when I heard this tragic news. He was just starting to shine too :(

To be fair a lot of the best guys always did ride beyond the limits in there early days and took some time to master...Vale, Stone etc.

RIP Marco

I have not found anywhere to sell me MCN this week as I presume they all got bought up by people buiyng it for a Marco tribute.

The funeral was Thursday so there will probably be more in this week's MCN.

Colin Edward wrote some nice stuff and he will not make Valencia as he is too injured, Marco's bike will be there in honour of him.

He was 250 world champ and the move to 4 stroke MotoGP takes a time to adjust to, I think Marco could have been a future world champion but I would like to see a minimum bike/rider combo weight like 125s have as at 76Kgs he was 28 Kgs heavier than Pedrosa for example, not his fault he was just very tall ie 6ft, and it should be down to talent not being very tiny.

I will mis this guy's style and wondering where the next flabouyant rider is coming from rather than robots we often see.

Thanks to everyone who was involved in letting Capirex run Bob's race number in yesterday's race.

Ianone should be interesting if he comes up next year, along with Marques in 2013.
