What are the chances of this happening next year or ever? could it arrive in the facelift?

I asked when I bought my Yeti and the Dealer said it would never happen, but who knows?

I don't think there is a market for it to be honest!

I think the closest you'd get is a 1.8 remapped. I don't think the vrs brand would suit the Yeti, although sports seats might be nice.

Babs, as a new visitor to this section I assume you have a real interest in the Yeti-the 170 diesel and the large petrol turbo are brisk out of the box and could easily be tweaked for some more power. They get larger brakes too.

The Yeti is my first car of its'type and configuration and I came to it from a Leon Tfsi which (with Konis and eibachs) is not dissimilar from an Octy-although based on a newer VAG chassis.

I find the roadholding and handling surprisingly good and crisp. Some Yeti owners have Shark tuning upgrades and some have tracked the car with good results.

Maybe you should try one to flesh out your very recent decision to visit and post here. I recognise that not all Octys are taxis-although 80% I see are- and that the Vrs is a very potent machine.

I suspect that a Vrs might be very good and love the blue!

So unlike Freedie I assume your interst in this section is genuine and not negative.

Have a go in one and let us know how you get on!

The same thing could be asked about other models.

What about a Superb or Roomster vRS? I have read that AutoExppress that there could be a CityGo vRS at some point.

I was just going to buy the 170 4x4 diesel and get it remapped. :D:thumbup:

here in germany the EU imports can be specced with sports seats although no skoda.de yetis can. think they cost 300 euros although i have not seen the seats fitted.

I think that there should be a vRS version of all models! B)

Roomster vRS?......YES PLEASE!

Post deleted by me as mods have removed some posts with great speed and good judgement.

Thanks!

The 170 Yeti is as quick as the Octavia VRS from a standing start as the Octavia looses traction only having front weel drive, however when you get up to and past the national legal speed limits the Octavia romps past!

We tried this on a private road......... honest

I post all over :) I have an interest in Skodas, or more broadly VAG group cars, having owned many (and this is my 3rd Skoda).

I'm well aware there are owners who want a "sporty" one, but I don't really think it fits into Skoda's vRS image (same as there's no Superb or Roomster vRS). I'm not sure on the Citigo either (Autoexpress is The Sun of automotive magazines ;)).

While I'm not saying there shouldn't be one, it just seems unlikely that it would be in their current business plan to lauch a niche sporty off-roader; I don't think it's the market that they have in mind for the Yeti.

But hey, i could be wrong. It has happened a few times...

I should add, that the Superb has the 3.6 4x4, so has a high performance option which isn't a vRS. The vRS brand "shouts" a bit louder than other models; it may not be appropriate for certain models.

During the recent motorshow launch of the citygo and Mission L concept the main man at Skoda CZ confirmed there wouldn't be any VRS versions other than the Fabia and octavia due to demand and model owners/buyers demographics.

He did add all models would have a sport version though, but not a ballsy VRS version.

Not sure you are aware of this, but certainly as far as the CR diesel is concerned, it can't be 'easily tweaked'

I believe it's a case of removing and breaking open the ECU and doing some 'open-heart' surgery on it, I believe they were rockhopper's words, and he's had it done

There is some market for 4x4s with a sporty focus-LR have done well with the RR sport-although it is a bit of a lash up based on Discovery111 hardware. The Evoque-a bit of a tart's handbag- has a deliberately sporty presence.

The big banger Superb sounds like it could be great fun but is quite a luxury aimed product.

Full on sports treatment might be a bit OTT but a tweaked motor and sports seats with some modest suspension tuning could well be successful. I did mean it about trying one though babs-I really think you'd enjoy it!

As to tweaking-I could be wrong but I believe the 170 ECU has been re-mapped by Shark but the 140 is still an open the box warranty unfriendly job.

Skoda can do it and after market tuning is there for the petrol turbo.

Mmmmmmm........what price a 'standard' Range Rover Sport?

Thats right. emoticon-0148-yes.gif As long as I never need it.....

I think on reflection, it can be easily tweaked, just not as easily as earlier non locked ecu cars. emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Like your new Avatar! Like Babs you should test drive a Yeti and see how you like it!

It's not the price, it the judgement that makes you want a Disco in a dress over a Real Range rover or a better value Discovery.

I would but there'd be no point - I've two grown up children and need the boot space lacking in the Yeti

I took two adults and two full size 13 year olds on a trip of 2300 miles to Portugal and back this summer- I did use a thule roof bag though. I just thought since you have developed an interest in the Yeti you might enjoy driving one. Obviously if the Yeti is of no interest at all to you I quite understand.

I am very interested in the Yeti, and am keen to learn :)
