I prefer the full Monte, but would look better with a bumper exiting exhaust even if it was oval rather than a twin one :yes:

They were as close as I had I'm afraid, and the vRS shots were cribbed off the Skoda website, so aren't the best either

I completely agree there - would have looked much better with the box from the old Sport :(

IMO The Monte is how the VRS should look, being the sportiest model in the range. The flared black arches and standard black roof make the Monte look more overtly sporty. The VRS is difficult to recognise as the beast it is unless it's in more lurid colours like the green. Of course this is what a lot of people will like about the VRS (Wolf in sheeps clothing e.t.c) However the number of people on here that have tried to adopt the look of the Monte for their VRS shows that many owners would like a more aggressive appearance on their cars. I agree on the Monte exhaust. Would look nice with a single oval can sticking out back.

Surely a monte!!! We don't want a lot of vRS's around us... It's nice to be few but good... Also, all this excessive black, especially the arches which I find appaling (someone once asked - does it run on bamboo? ) gives me the impression of a boy racer having applied aftermarket parts... I'm so glad they didn't make the vRS look like the Monte, not my style at all.

In fact all the vRS needs is the black wheels. That being checked, the front design with the big grill and the round DRLs is SO beautiful, as for the back, the exhaust and the air diffuser do make such a difference. You definitely can't match that by coloring black the inside of your lights and your arches, that's silly...

I prefer the Monte front end, and the vRS backend. I'm not a fan of the Monte's black arches gives a false impression of a massive gap.

vrs, the monte looks like a scout hatch with the black off road stye bumper and wheel arch extensions. A bit like a rover streetwise type of car if u know what i mean. i guess it's how it's marketed.

if skoda called the monte the scout htach...perhaps same colours as the estate scout.

IMHO, at first glance, the Monte Carlo looks meaner/hotter the the vRS, I guess that's due to the black trim around the wheel arches.

Overall though, I prefer the vRS, both the front and rear end look better.

I think there are colors that the Monte out shines the vRS and vise versa. I'm not a big fan of silver cars.

A Monte in anthracite imo looks fantastic as the black parts don't contrast that much.

Then my favorite for the vRS would be for example the blue with the black pack. So good.

I don't mind either, but my preference would be a standard vrS in Silver with standard headlights.

I still think the black pack or black wheels gives the vrS that 'gangster' appearance, especially with those smoked rear windows!

I nearly got a black one to blend in with my Octavia and SWMBO's Sport, but to me the effect is totally lost on a black car, although with black grille and lights it would look pretty mean

Prefer the vRS ( not cause I own one honest ), I feel it has an understated look compared to the Monte.

If you look at a monte I think it screams it's a nippy hatchback, when you look at the vRS you don't think so as much.

Just my opinion of course, I really like both! I saw that Monte above at my local Progress garage, colour is stunning!

A little comparison

Neither, I'm afraid the Fabia Mk2 shape does nothing for me at all. If I had to choose one it would be the Monte - at least you can buy it with a proper (diesel) engine.
