http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/pipercross-velocity-air-intake-systembr-octavia-1u-18t-0996-p-4923.html

Has anyone any experiance with these or any others they would recommend any help would be greatly appreciated..

think alot of the forum will say the second link

Carbonio or k&n typhoon over those 2 if your wanting to spend that kind of money.

Or buy the eBay cai and swap the filter to a k&n cone and save yourself Some £££'s

Thanks for the reply yea thats what i thought tbh its all down to the filter isn't it and pipercross are one of the top manufactures i guess so it makes sense just wondered if anyone had any experiance with them what setup do you have?

Ye Carbonio is the make, theres also abd. I suppose it's down to personal preference and budget really, shop around for deals etc.

Me personally wouldn't touch pipercross (lost 5bhp on my old st)!

Honestly, if your car is stock spend it on something more worthwhile...

I'd spend the money on an ARB, never seen any kind of gain from an induction kit on any of the cars I've had (apart from some noise)

Get a fleabay one mate at 40 ish notes and but a nice big K&N universal filter. Spray the pipe and get some proper silicone pipes and all up for around £100 you have one that looks and sounds good. Ill post a pic of mine. The carbonio looks good but the ones I've seen has no mounts?

Skim read fail!

Read it back, mean silicone pipes for the ind kit ie MAF to CAI resulting in a CAI that'll cost around £100 not the silicone pipes

Seems a lot of money 'gray88' to pay £234.00 for a length of pipe with a couple of filters stuck-on the end?? for what, 4 - 6 BHP extra !!

Surely a length of large radiator hose with a cone filter stuck-on the end would do the same job ??

Add a couple of jubilee clips, the whole lot might come to £22.50 at the most ??

Basically after fitting the large air intake, your air-feed will be reduced in size at the point where your new bits stop, by the air-feed to engine.

Get a super-charger to blast more air-into air-feed system would seem more beneficial.

Am i only the only one with a Jabbakit emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

Thanks for comments, yes I have spent some hours on it and keep it up together

It comes with a K&N filter as they are the best filter for a CAI.

They are a US based company , website here:

http://abdracing.com/home.html

They are well known for providing great tuning products for the 1.8T VAG group engines.

Link to the CAI pipe I have:

http://abdracingwerks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=ADIAR&Product_Code=70.LAN.1.K

$239 divide by 1.53 exchange rate i think it is now, then shipping which sorry can't remember so not cheap.

I have picked one up when I was in USA, Customs thought it was a gun, cannon of some sort when it went through the x ray machine in my case.

They do go on ebay sometimes... look for SEAT,GOLF variants as all the same.
