Finally got round to changing the 'bulbs' on swmbo's car.

She was running cheapo ebay 6500k bulbs for the last year and the light output on the road was so bad that when you switched the fog lights on, they lit up the road better.

Looking at them head on they look crisp & white/blue are not bright at all.

Drivers side, ebay cheap bulb. Passenger side Philips extreme.

Problem is the tints which change the colour, reduce the light output.

After a week of driving with the Ring Xenon Ultima lamps I have to say im very impressed, Brilliant on Country roads, feels as if im driving on full beam!

Also I havent had any one flash me which im pleased about

Rich.

Hmmm. My local MotorWorld store a couple minutes walk away (run by another company using the MotorWorld brand as they went belly up ages ago) has the Ring Xenon Ultima Bulbs half price. Outside sign says from £14.99 which I guess is the H4, so I suspect H7's are £17-18. Really tempted as that's about the cheapest you can get them on ebay and you have to stump up postage on top. Recently bought the Osram Night Breaker Plus 90%'s which are the best I've had to date, so struggling to justify it....

I've just bought a set of Philips X-Treme Vision, although I've not had chance to fit them yet.

What surprised me is that the bulbs arrived in 2 packages each with a single bulb in Philips packaging. I've never seen bulbs sold singularly before!

Fitted my Philips X-Treme bulbs and I've got to say that they aren't, if at all, much better than the Ring 80W bulbs I took out (not sure on the exact Ring type).

The light is more like the standard yellowy colour as opposed to a nice white light from the rings. Both are better than the standard bulbs though. But nowhere near +100% :'(

Anyone tried these

H7 18 SMD LED Xenon White Headlight Bulbs

Anyone tried these

Not those specific ones, but replaced the bulbs in my foglights with LED H3 ones. Looked awesome with matching LED sidelights, and I highly recommend doing it.

But these bulbs are completely useless for illumination purposes. Plain dangerous for main/dipped IMO, and as Funky Fab said

Sorry this is a very late reply to your posting, but, I'm thinking that you bought them from Powerbulbs - I too have bought them from Powerbulbs (a few times) and now it seem that they off load these orders to a third party - no issues with that, but I'm just confirming what you've discovered, only grump is that I was sent "clear" sidelight bulbs free - but I had a few "blue" sets lying around so finally fitted a set of them. My Passat B5 has always had "orangy" sidelights even though it was fitted with Xenons at the factory and I've owned it from new, after seeing the colour of the sidelight sI fitted to my wife's Polo 9N, I should get a set of these "blue" ones fitted!
