Is it just me or is the inside of a new 2011 Octy VRS a bit dull? Ive had mine about nine months now and ive finaly noticed its a bit bland!!

I had a MK1 1.8T VRS that looked really well inside, nice dials and so forth and even my fab VRS had some nice wee VRS touches but in the octy i could be in any car!! The only give away is the tiny badge on the steering wheel!! My last motor was Audi Avant S line which had a great sporty inside, plus all the dials and switches lit up red.

So is it just me?!!

It's pretty standard VAG stuff tbh, have had to drive a Golf GTi and a VW Tiguan recently and they are amazingly similar !

I think it's just the functional to cost German style, I like it, have you been in the new shape Focus recently? It's a plastic mess with too many useless buttons I thought they had nicked the dashboard off of a Kia Ceed !

I prefer the "bland" dashboard, but then I'm a very function over form guy in general

SMS text message on the Maxidot so you can crash into the car in front of you whilst reading it !

i think the dash and everything else is laid out nicely, the only thing id change is the colour of the clocks, green just doesn't do it for me

The one thing I'd have changed on the vRS is the oldie wordie Jaguar-esque font and design of the speedo and rev counter to something more Golf GTI like.

The acres of painted silver don't help the vRS either. Piano black would have been better.

If you specify alcantara you get the red stitching on th gears and steering wheel as well as the seats.

I've read the thread on that change and for what, £100 if memory serves?, I think that is THE best way ever to lift the vRS interior. The red stitching looks fantastic! Bar as I say above swapping the dail cluster for that from a Golf GTI!

Really not sure how you can say a FL vRS interior is dull compared to a mkI Fabia vRS or a mkI Octavia vRS!

I had a mkI Fabia for five years and my mate has a mkI Octavia vRS and the white backlighting on the dials along with the maxidot computer and the large Bolero screen make the mkII FL interior leagues ahead of either of the old cars.

As far as I remember the only special thing about the Fabia interior were the seats and the gearknob?

The FL Octavia also has similar seats, doesn't have vRS on the gear knob but has it on the steering wheel instead.

I agree that the FL Octavia interior is functional rather than stylish, but I think it is definitely quite a classy place to be, and certainly miles better than either of the older cars.

I like these Audi A5 dials. Old Motorbike like, thought motorbikes now have digi speedo.

That's one of the reasons I've ordered it, oh and because the white suede is a nightmare to keep clean!!

The pic of the gti above looks very similar to my vrs!!!!

My parents have my mk1 vrs and it is like going way back in time being that again. Remember we drive skodas people and not jags or mercs. Remember where skoda was and where they are now and also the price we pay! We can't have it all.

I had that too but I got f*cked off having to take me butler everywhere.

i found the interior rather dull at night im not a fan of the green im in the process of changing the green to reds, blues and white real brightens it up and completly changes the interior
