should I?.....

Featured Replies

Ok I know this is a done to death subject but I'm thinking of getting my octi remapped.

Revo is doing an offer on remap plus free sps if order placed before the end of the month. Checked insurance and it doesn't increase the premium by much (most is the admin fee).

Do I or don't I? I've no partner/kids to answer to just myself but should I go for revo or would a custom remap be better? (Im not fussed on out right power figures) The sps is something I want, I'd rather switch back to standard when the car goes into the garage.

Or should I be good and save the money?

Do it. Like you say, you've nobody else to answer to.

im getting mine done tomorrow, actually cant wait :)

If you have the cash to do it, get it done. There really are no downside,s other than it might lead you down the road to further mods!

Anyone on here been revo'd. What's the map like on the cr?

Do it! But also consider W8 Performance - based in Tonbridge - who are now a supplier for Shark maps.

Do revo do a map for the cr? I used SP tuning near Leicester when I had mine done. The map was excellent as was the service. They've a rolling road too which appeared to be accurate as it have 172 stock on mine.

yes Revo remap the CR.

Does shark do a switchable unit? :rubchin:

I don't think Shark offer a non invasive remap for the CR..........yet!

as far as I know there is no way to remap the new CR without opening the ECU.

But yes once opened it can then be switchable via OBD port.

After having a remapped fabia I really want it to be switchable for when its in the dealer/garage for work as previous experience has shown me grease monkeys like to take modded car for a test drive.

Ive said it twice and ill say it again....bluefin all the way!

hmm interesting. Not an option I thought of again this seems to be plug and play but nothing about having to have the ecu taken out.

We had it on our first VRS PD and that managed 205bhp/310lbs on a DD Dyno. I know the reputation of the BlueFin and Superchips in general, however I have to say it was much better than the 3.0d BMW I have now it certainly felt quicker B).

I have the BF on the BM at the moment, with the new car about to be ordered I think I will switch it back and use it on the new car :)

hmmm me think I will need to spend more time researching and contacting the remappers.

Update, got mine mapped today, running around 200-205bhp (didt get chance to put it on the rollers)

Its brutal! In a good way, obviously when you have got used to your car and the power band and extra horses are brill!

Had a few teething problems at first but all seems to have settled down now, i would defiantly recommend to anyone but just take it steady, i know it sounds abit like common sense but treat it like an un-known car, relearning the limits and boundaries

also added benefit is the MPG, when companies have quoted better MPG iv always been abit unsure how true to their word they are but put it this way, on the way to the garage, 48mpg, on the way home 58.9mpg (yes that is with having a little play about  )

Sounds great! Also good to hear an increase in mpg!

All very interesting but are you any good at driving?.....100horsepowers between your head and throttle.

Mine was remapped through the OBD port [the ECU was never 'opened']

Yours is a TSI looking at the info, which has a different unencrypted ECU.

When there is a OBD switchable map that doesn't require ECU removal for the CR, please let me know!!

No, I used to have a CR [on a 58 plate] and it was remapped via the OBD port by http://www.sptuning.co.uk/
