true cost of supercar ownership

Featured Replies

I should imagine that most of those figures are dwarfed by the depreciation over two years of ownership.

Also, I doubt many of those cars selected ever do 12.5K miles per year, more like 2.5K per year, so the figures are a bit misleading. Either way though, I'm glad I didn't buy a Veyron new :o

Very true. My old man's late 90's Aston V8 went back to the factory for a service last year and cost in the region of £5k.

Trouble is you expect the whole workmanship and experience to be the best it possibly could be. Yes it was very nice to sit in the old Newport Pagnell factory and have a coffee and then get shown round some of the most beautiful cars in the world, before driving off in your freshly serviced car..............

............A few miles down the road you realise the bloody thing is overheating, haul it over to the side of the road to realise some **** 'mechanic' has left the temperature sender plugs off, so the fans didn't kick in. Cheers then, up to us to sort out with the RAC.

:wall:

Bugatti Veyron:

Services cost £14,500 each, and the tyres, of which you will need roughly four sets over 25,000 miles, cost a ridiculous £25,000 per set.

oh.my.god!!!

That's peanuts if you can afford to buy one new in the first place.

That roughly means that when we see Clarkson and co smoking tyres etc on supercars around their test track it must be costing about £10 per revolution :o

Why would they have a bunch of Fabias in such a place. :giggle:

To be fair most of the running costs are pretty sensible, for the type of car.

Obviously the Veyron is just plain crazy, but as said if you can afford it...

I don't think £8k a year for a Ferrari FF is that bad.... if you could actually afford the car of course and the hideous depreciation.
