  • Here's a video from a rather bemused arial atom driver

  • Driven it a bit.   In a word, it is...   INSANE!!!

  • We have gone from this:   To this:   To this!!!       A Race Blue Yeti!   I need to get the Annapurnas on I think to complete the change.

Bloody hell that's downright dangerous.

If you don't like being overtaken then get a better car, or driving lessons. Stupid stupid man

This! If he can't act sensibly then he shouldn't even go to a track day

bloody cozzie drivers!

used to love my saffy 2wd!

at least there was no damage to the yeti or its driver!  ;)

My lad's watched the video and decided that it's a Soakda Weti

What an idiot.

People are going to overtake you on track days! Someone will always have a faster car, or a slower car but be a better driver.

So the cossie had more power in the straights but was a knob.

What can the yeti manage for top speed?

What can the yeti manage for top speed?

In the dry at Brands around 115mph, just into 5th gear.

No idea off the track.

enjoying this thread :)

I should imagine 140 would be possible, after that the aerodynamics may slow you down and take a lot more bhp to achieve a few more mph?

Never been round brands, watched a few times so will have to come watch you at some point! :)

That Cossie driver must of got confused and thought he was back in the 80's and tussling for position at a BTCC race!

Clear proof that some people shouldn't be allowed to operate anything more deadly than a sponge.

I wouldn't trust them with a sponge, they'd probably choke on it... actually, free sponges for all! Here, get it down your gullet.

if you want to see a sleeper just type "Farm Truck" into YouTube

The Yeti is still a sleeper, even if it's not a Farm Truck running drag radials. :)

Don't you think that the vRS Race Blue is something of a hint, if only to Skoda enthusiasts?

Most people don't get it.

Plus it's lowered a bit, got different wheels and huge brakes.

So it depends how closely you look.

Actually it looks "right" IMVHO, a stock YETI looks if it's riding far too high for a soft-roader.

It's not as if you've gone too mad with the wheels, & very few people look that closely at disc sizes!

I keep wondering if my EOS could use bigger front discs, (probably 312mm as standard), but they seem to "fiil" the 18" rims

without too much spare clearance, & stopping seems to be normal.

Of course, when driving like a grandfather I don't even use the brakes, just back-off the throttle early & use the paddles to slow down........

DC

(Another reason to spectate at a track day, I'd hate to waste money by braking for the corners. I'd just roll of the gas before Druids & accelerate gently around the corner letting gravity assist me back to cruising speed....)

The brakes don't jump out at you as you chose a subtle colour for the calipers. You need to get close to appreciate them

Popped into Tuning Werks in Croydon today to check progress.

It's all going to plan so far, so all good.

Fingers crossed for Castle Combe.

Work in progress.

KW v3 kit. No kit listed, but the Tiguan kit seems spot on.

Best to check with your KW supplier, but I believe the rear is the same as a Tiguan of the same age.

2009 in this case.

Thank you :)

Has this thing got it's 2.0tsi yet?

That's the plan over winter downtime Mark, assuming I can get a 2.0tsi at the right price.

I almost got a 59 plate Octavia VRS (petrol manual) on Copart a little while back but it went for too many ££££££.  Over £5k with charges IIRC.

Can't be taking my only (fully functioning) racing Skoda off the road in track season. :D

Now it's sitting low, throw some Greenline badges on it and really throw people off ;) ultimate Yeti sleeper.
