The Twins. (And Yeti RS)

Featured Replies

Sorry this is a bit of a hijack, yet still slightly on topic, and this is the best thread on the matter I have come across.

I am deeply and darkly interested  in the earlier conversation about changing out internals from the 1.8 tsi and replacing with those from a 2.0 tsi therefore giving more or less the same engine as the Mk2 vRS/GTI etc.

Is the IHI turbo from the 2.0tsi different to that on our 1.8 tsi's?

Does this then mean, and bear with me - change internals and turbo then remap and you have an easy (take that with a pinch of salt) stage 1 250bhp?

If so (and hear is the relevant bit) Richard you must swear on all that is Briskodly to finish this project as I am in desperate need of a lot of spares your quest for 400bhp will produce.

...........carry on!

I am having dark thoughts about selling the Yeti VRS. :peek:

While it's still easy to put seats back in and before I gut it.

So it's still easy to make it a nice road car.

Anyone got £18k burning a hole in their back pocket?

Doesn't include the seats as I want them for the Citigo.  Standard ones provided.

I'm guessing the market isn't a huge one...

I remember using the same phrase of having dark thoughts of selling the Fabia !!!

Have'nt done it though but still have the thoughts now and again - it will pass

I think Taylor should stay with Fabias as he'd get bored of not being able to tinker with a ST

I reckon the old Fiesta taught me true car control, mainly as it was so old and worn out you had to otherwise it would kill you lol

Assuming that it had all it's seats, a proper battery & equipment then I'm sure that it would be great to live with, & probably more fun on the road than on a track.

"Q" cars have a special appeal for me, my old black Octy vRS always seemed to surprise other drivers, they probably thought it was just another mini-cab!

As for a potential market for the car, Briskoda members of course, but not too many more. It might be difficult to find any dealer to accept it as a trade-in too.

Yes but pushing it does give you a good workout!

Right to help Richard keep the Yeti :

How people look when they see a Fiesta ST going fast

And how they look when they see a Yeti going quickly

Raven - many thanks. It's not so far from Finland to Sweden.

That's true :) It's just a night on a cruise ship :)

Any of you smart technical types had any thoughts on this?

I am the theory dept. so no much use as far as practicalities are concerned. Is 2.0 stroked 1.8 or bored only?

Stroked.

Don't sell it!

I think Richard is disheartened as Jason's mongrel beat him by 0.22 second.

Get back out there and try harder!

This forum would be a nothing without your mad build threads! Saying that, if I had the money I'd be modding silly skoda's.

Actually for a car that's not exactly finished and was a stock Yeti seven months ago I think it did alright. :D

Clearly there is very little between the two cars in question and when you are in first place what do you have to aim for? ;)

I think the madness has passed...

thats what you said after the 1st R35... 2nd R35.... 3rd R35... the Tank.... 2.0TFSI Yeti......  :bandit:

:D

Glad it has passed Richard. Still think I'd drive it every day just to put a huge grin on your face.... Just like I did mine when you took me around Blyton. :D

I've been away for a few days so have a clearer head.

Work can be quite annoying when you haven't had any time off for eight months.

Celibrated my return with a wizz in the R32.

Feeling good. :sun:

Happy to hear it is staying looking forward to it blasting past me on track next year :)

Lol

I honestly thought the Yeti vRS would be first - qucik enough and around the same weight as the mongrel :)
