The Twins. (And Yeti RS)

Featured Replies

re post #2349 by BossFox

I show very much interest and talk almost all the time about the builds with others with the same interests,

I read the Projects and builds all the time, following them, and the people that i talk with are talking with others on them,

every part of the builds, i do not post in the threads because i have nothing to add to them.

but its nice to be nice to new members, and many here were being the usual abusive posters.

I just ignore the abusive posts from members here in a Project thread and the non build stuff.

I can not see where my posts here yesterday 'were getting the boot in', or even refer to BossFox or the build,

just the nature of the Briskoda Members posts.

What i am aware of is how others that that also follow the build threads here by just reading online and watching the videos posted, now see the Briskoda Members behaviour  if you dare to comment after joining.

I think we all know the real reason, although I'm still struggling to interpret the above post

In simple words for you then.

I read the Projects from the start because cars and engines are what interest me, and i talk about them to people interested in the Companies doing the work and parts being used and the results. & do not comment in the threads because they are build threads.

So i do show interest, and people look in to Briskoda and read the Projects, and members here flaming those that deem to comment are an embarrassment in my opinion.

In other news (and to help talk about something else)

The now long forgotten 1.8 from the Yeti will soon be finding a new home :)

I know it's been overshadowed by the fire spitting TTRS engine but excited nonetheless

I will now shamelessly plug the fact I have a logistical dilemna getting the lot up north, please feel free to check in on my greenline thread :)

Sorry Richard, its an abuse of your thread but there are limited visitors to the Superb project section :D

ooohhh that will be interesting :) nice job sparkly :)

I can't find a vid of yours that's 9:30.

I noticed you didn't offer a reply to my second sentence.

here you go. i can post a comment in the vid especially for you if your still not convinced its me. :p

Videos of a yeti overtaking nissan gtr's??!! Yes please :)

What a great project. Do have long term plans for the car, what the next stage of development will look like? Or is it just a case of enjoying it as it is at the minute?

I have followed the citigo project too and I'm sort of guessing that might even blow the yeti out of the water...?

Might be a daft question but do you trailer the yeti to track days or drive it there...?

The next stage of development is me trying to get it down to 1,250kg (car and full tank, no driver) while keeping it looking the same.

That means trying to remove an additional 100kg over what it weighs now.

Not going to be that easy.

I drive it to track days, give it some stick on circuit and then drive it home. :)

Difficult to compare to the Citigo.

Not sure which will be quicker either as the Yeti can still be developed further...

The 5pot engine has a lot of potential considering it's happy running 500bhp on stock internals with breathing mods and an upgraded turbo.

I like how the Yeti is now known amongst car people even outside of Briskoda, in Kwik fit (don't ask) and talking about the fitters R33 Skyline out back and she mentioned about a rather quick Yeti that her friend had seen at some recent track days.

Four track days in two weeks... :D

Combe was when it went a bit viral though.

FB went a bit Yeti crazy and the TTS Roadsport post got shared something like 200+ times including to several car sites/clubs.

I've also had PMs of articles in a few different countries too.

As a sleeper, the cat is well and truly out of the bag.

Looks like a good day today Richard,

How did it go compared to the LFA?

Ok so carbon fibre doors will save 80kg did you say? Have you got a carbon bonnet being made too? I guess any extra weight saving will start getting really pricey. Carbon fibre roof and prop shaft?

Has the yeti exceeded your expectations from a project point of view or did you have a sneaky suspicion it was going to be this good?

If you knew what you knew with the yeti, do you still think you would have pursued the citigo project as well?

Hats off to you though in terms of originality on both projects they look absolutely outstanding.

And also for what it's worth, you always come across as very level headed from what I have see of you on the forum and from that I don't believe for one minute you would intentionally do anything deliberately irresponsible on track (in relation to the slight off topic in the thread earlier).

Very much so,

is a good talking point as we then moved from that onto Nissan Patrols running Skyline running gear,

Similar concept 4wd running monsterous power

On another note I can see why you run a Skyline as well now.

anyone else glad Jabba have had problems?

I'm sure you aren't, Richard but if they hadn't, no Yeti 2.5.

Hope you get my meaning :D

You'll have to start vinyl wrapping it before public trackdays so that no-one will know which colour Yeti to look out for until it's out on track.

Richard, love your posts!

What about a small infra red thermometer to check tyre temperatures and getting it well set up.

Seems that there still is improvement in the setup.

Checking temps inside, outside and middle will give you some information about your car setup.

And tyre pressures when warm was always how we setup the cup cars. A couple of laps and than a check of the pressures.

Giving the tyres the pressures they had to have (we knew the pressures Pirelli gave us. You will have to find out what pressures your tyres, when warm, are supposed to have).

After the turns we used to write down the cold pressures (wont be able to do that, as you drive the car back home), to have information with what pressures to start the next day.

But not overloading the tyres, will give them the best results. This will, IMHO, improve your times much more than extra power or less weight (a combination is always better....).

So sorry I dont live in GB to visit your track days. Would love to have a chat with you.

I saw in the demon tweeks catalogue that you can get a tyre pressure monitor that displays on your phone

not sure if checking apps at 130mph is doable :D
