Your meaning is to say this list of cars work good and it's ok for me to learn about it. Really. My point is that lots of reports across Europe say the contrary. Maybe you and I could argue about who is right or wrong untill eternity but we don't want it because it's helpless.

My meaning is, if you are an usual VAG car user - wich I was - you must not let the impression that we accept a more or less enginered product into the market - even if your own car works perfect - because this is a weak signal send to the manufacturer in terms of customer habits.

I repeat, our problem, wich may not be absolutly the same in the UK, is that we CAN NOT RESELL these cars without legal implication if there is a situation with the DSG with the new user. And this, by Law. That's why we gather ourselves at first via Facebook.

Rear stone chip thingys replaced as dirt was getting under them - misaligned from factory.

Creak from rear suspension. sounds normal as everyone has it

I'll say this again here as I think it is very relevent. The 7 speed DSG will addapt to you driving stil. Argument over I know this as give my car too weeks of comunting and its a slow always changin up way too early and the shifts aren't 100%.

Yet once the car has been out for a proper run with liberal applications of right foot

in to the carpet it's back to its old self.

Back on topic oil is worrying me but not officially at a level that it's an issue yet.

Here, we have more DSG7 behavior (loss of power) and acoustic issues (mostly with the POLO). Most of us are day to day drivers.

But I am honest. The car brougth me to the italian Alps recently and I must say, in the highways, the drive was very good. Very much.

The problem come when you drive in the city (slowly and irregular ground). Every one agree on that in our group.

VW shouldn't consider this as a result of well done engineering development. A car is an expensive item I must say. Even if it's a "small" one. They can hear this message. Anyway, they recognized it. But they don't assume.

Minor rattles from glovebox/passenger door areas.. drivers seat "squeaked" a bit at first but has gone now !

Well i was on the list recorded as a problem due to high oil consumption but i seem to have dropped off this for some reason. Anyway after the call i received from my local service department i need not worry.

According to them within tollerable limits means an oil consumption of less than 500 ml per 600 miles (or 0.5 l/1000 kms).

My consumption, 482ml per 600 miles, so i am within tollerance and therefore can be placed in the problem free section which i will do shortly.

Can't say i am particularly happy but at least if the engine does fall over and it can be traced to poor lubrication, it is now on record that my engine was only just in tollerance. Being this close i would have prefered them to do something about it but thats not going to happen in a month of Sundays.

Do i drive like Miss Daisy, no i dont. Do i drive like Colin McRae again no i don't. Do i enjoy driving the car hard within my own and the limitations of the road/conditions, yes i do. I don't think i have nannied the car unduly and yes once or twice i did managed to get 50 mpg out of it but it was so boring. Usual mpg is in the mid thirties, and my daily commute was almost 40 miles to work each day and hence why i have accumalated 18500 miles in a year. Also the problem has only seemed to have got worse. As i have said before, upto the first service i used 1.5 litres of oil, since then i have used 4.5 litre of oil until the dealer started doing several oil changes to do the consumption test. So what changed i do not know?

4) HBFS - Currently on 33,000 miles Creaking from the rear when cold, high oil consumption fixed 10k miles ago, now in the garage due to misfiring.

Car arrived march 2011 new. It's a hatch. No modifications made. Car has run on vpower or tesco momentum since new. I've had the misfire, sorted with new plugs and software update, was major at time but now happy.

Also had creaking suspension and dash but those aren't major problems.

Had many more serious issues with my sportKa and corsa.
