Changing an inlet gasket

Featured Replies

Can anybody tell me how hard this is to do as a job? I'm no mechanic but pretty handy with a spanner?..

Thanks in advance

Hi jake. Did you ever get round to doing this? Going to be doing it myself next week.

Danny.

Simple, but youll probably need to take the air box out to get around to the allen key bolts holding it on, and work a bit blind as its tucked away. (I did mine last week while fitting the new turbo)

Not to difficult, remove inlet pipe off EGR valve, and unbolt exhaust pipe to it (or unbolt EGR valve to inlet manifold if easier). Disconnect wiring/vacuum pipes. Remove inlet flexible trunking and the inlet air pipe to turbo if you find it helps improve access or just push it out of the way. I think there are 6 allen bolts holding it on (they're not too tight - I used an allen key with no problems)

Oh if only i could go back this far lol. This was before my engine blew up n everything. Cant even remember what was wrong with it. Think it was blowing soot in the engine bay but ended up being a leak in the egr pipe
