Monte Carlo 1.6 Tdi Cr Dpf 105 Bhp Remap & Dpf Removal

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I recently bought a new Fabia Monte Carlo 1.6 TDI CR DPF 105 bhp after trading in my 220bhp (Modified) 2009 Honda Civic Type R GT.

So far I’m happy with almost everything about the car especially the 48mpg I’m getting on average compared to the 20-24 mpg from the civic.

I have enquired about a remap with a few tuning companies but no one seems to be able to remap them at present and one snottily replied "let alone remove the DPF".

Does anyone know of a reputable tuning company that can?

I live in Glasgow so a reputable tuner near here is preferable but I’m willing to travel, my Type R was tuned by TDI North in Warrington purely because they have an excellent reputation

I would also like to lower the car and up rate the suspension as due to the state of the roads where I live hitting potholes is a regular and mostly unavoidable occurrence and when I do the bang that comes from the suspension is horrendous.

Can anyone recommend a good quality kit or separate components?

Thanks in advance

Remap isnt available yet, i look last year and tuners told me summer 2012

£800 to just remap a 1.6TDi Skoda Fabia is way over priced as i said on the Pendle performance page I had my 2007 Honda Civic 2.2 iCDTI remaped from 140-170bhp for £300, i had my 2009 Honda Civic Type R Remapped to 220bhp for £200 @ TDI North in Warrington.

After paying the prices above there is no way i'd pay £800 for just a remap

It's not overpriced if they are the only ones that can do it. Someone will have invested hundreds of hours to crack these new ECU's.

The price will drop as others gain the ability, how much will you save and how long will you wait?

I realise it has taken a long time to crack this ECU but that still does not justify such a high price for a remap alone.

DPF removal, delete and a remap yes but not just a remap.

How long am i willing to wait? Probably about another year i'm getting married in two months and i have things that need done in the house before i can spend more money on the car.

£795

Are they having a laugh? :(

Yes, glad someone agrees with me

£795 feck me - at least **** Turpin wore a mask when he was Robbin' people.

I'm curious whether it's available at more tuners, time to ask around.

Interestingly what is the difference mechanically between the three 1.6CR's?

Is it purely mapping or is there a different clutch/flywheel/turbo etc?

A lot of other tuners are working on cracking it but i don't know of any other that have been successful.

I'm no Mechanic mate i'm not sure what the difference is between the three.

I didn't realise there were 3 1.6CR engines? I knew there was the normal 1.6TDI, and then there is the Greenline/Ecomotive version. As I understand it, the only difference between those two is the Greenline/Ecomotive have extended gear ratios.

I think there are three different versions of the 1.6 a 75/90/105bhp

Ohhh I see. My bad. If you do find someone who does the 105bhp engine, let me know. I'll possibly looking for a DPF delete :). I have e-mailed shark performance but no one will get back for a few days as I only emailed on Saturday.

I have the 105 as well i contacted a few places shark included but none of them have managed a crack yet just Pendle Performance and he is charging a fortune.

If i hear of anyone else in the future i'll let you know
