Streaming Spotify (A2DP?) via bluetooth to my Octavia II -08 - what options are there?

Featured Replies

Hi!

I have a Skoda Octavia Ambiente -08, and want to make my car audio bluetooth enabled so that I can stream music to it using my phone (Spotify etc.). What options are available, both Skoda genuine and 3rd-party? I've found some 3rd-party units that would do the trick, but none of them seems to support the backing sensors of my car.

Just to be clear, are you thinking of changing the whole head unit, or adding bluetooth capability to the factory fit one you have now?

I'm sure others will be along with suggestions, but for my tuppence- worth, I added bluetooth (and sat nav) by swapping the 'Stream mp3' factory head unit for an after market one made by a company called Zenec (model NC-2010). You do lose the visual display of the rear parking sensors, but you still have the beeps, which is just fine for me :-)

I think I'm going gor changing the whole head unit, so your suggestion sound like a good one. DIdn't think of that the beeps would still be there, good point:) I seldom look at the visuals anyway. So, what do you think of the Zenec?

On a side note, it seems like the NC2010 only works with 2009-present? But maybe that only applies to the parking sensors?
