Door Open Warning Light

Featured Replies

ok guys and gals codes for dash panel are as follows the coding is made up of 5 digits.

first two digits are optional equipment.

01-brake pad warning light

02-seat belt warning light

04-low screenwash level

08-bulb failure warning light (only l&k models)

16-door open warning light

now what you have to do is add together all the options you want ie if you want b/pad warning (01) and door open warning(16) and seat belt warning(02) so thats 1+16+2 =19 so your first digits will be 19.

next digit is country.

0-germany

1-europe and rest of world

2-usa

3-canada

4-uk

5-japan

6-saudi arabia

7-australia

next digit is service interval.

0-fixed intervals (qg0)

1-extended interval (qg1)

2-extended interval with fixed limit (qg2)

3-without service interval

next digit is for engine variant.

1-engines 1.4/55kw

2-1.4/44kw

1.6/74-75kw (with auto box)

2.0/85kw

1.8/110-132kw

1.9/66-81kw

3-1.9/50kw sdi

1.6/74-75kw (with manual box)

4-1.9/74kw (not available in uk)

so if you have a 90hp (66kw) octavia live in uk on fixed intervals with seat belt warning brake pad warning and door open warning you should have a code of 19402

hope this helps cheers big k.

Big K,

OK - bit confused!!

So, are you saying that the 1.6 Ambiente has a digital dash warning panel then, and it's just not activated as standard????

Rob

so for a variable service vRS enabling all options bar the bulb failure thing needs code

2341? cant see how you got the last digit.

last code is for engine your engine is 1.8/132kw so its 2 at the end so it will be 23412 but that's only if you have 1. brake pads with a warning wire on it. and 2. if your screenwash bottle has a sensor on it. if not remove them numbers in first 2 digits.

Hello Big K, So if I want to add the Door Open Warning Light to my 2001 Octavia Elegance what are the steps I have to do to program it on the car computer?

Could it be posible that you give me step by step the sequence for example:

switch on contact;

connect VAG 1552 / VAS 5051

choose systemcode 17 (dashboard)

what follow?...................

.......................................

THX for your time and help,

Isaac

t/boss yeh no problem switch on ignition (contact) connect 1552/5051 select 17 (dash panel) the first screen you will see is the coding, part no of control unit etc. make a note of the coding no's then go into function 03 (coding control unit) and change the first two digits to the desired ones ie adding up each option you want. hope this helps if you need further assistance please don't hesitate to ask. btw i would say i would come and do it for you but you are quite a distance from me.

big k,

I assume the Fabia has a similar set up, so could you program the Comfort dash to give all the functions of the Elegance?

E.g seat belt warning etc?

Many thanks.

can't remeber will get back to you on that one, do you have the means to change the code then?

I can't change the codes myself yet so will have to resort to asking my local skoda dealer.

(who are pretty helpful, although I get looks of complete bewilderment from them sometimes when i go in making strange requests!) :o

Its either that or finding someone with the VAG diag tool/COM

Just wondering really.

ok you can change codes (not gonna bore evrybody with them) but ask your dealer to look in electrical workshop manual chapter 90-3 pages 6&7 that will give them all the info they need.

dgw could probably answer this one better extended = variable (the car decides) extended with fixed limit = variable with a fixed limit if you should wish.

i tell a lie extended with fixed limit is variable but has to have oil service every 10k or 1 year which ever one comes first.

  • Author

OK - so what is variable limit then - EG when the car decides it needs a service?

Now more confused than ever!!!

Rob

sorry don't know the answer to that one (no usually a request from my customers) but i would think you need a little more than just a switch and activating it ie. new abs control unit, new engine ecu ? etc.etc.
