Door Open Warning Light

Featured Replies

Anyone know if the 2001 model 1.6 Ambiente is supposed to have a "door open" warning light on the dash? I only wonder, 'cos I had an 03 TDI loan car from the dealer and this had it...

Morning,

was sat in a Y 2001 yesterday and i know it had 1 for the boot, not sure about the doors though but assume it should

My 01 RS does not have any door / boot open warnings

it's all in the coding of the dash panel :D

This are the sequence code for the Automatic Door lock for Skoda Octavia:

switch on contact;

connect VAG 1552 / VAS 5051

choose systemcode 46 (comfort system)

choose functioncode 10 (adapting)

choose chanel 3 (Autolock)

choose chanel 4 (auto unlock)

just change the value there form 0 to 1 and it works afterwards.

So I am pretty sure the Door dash light has to be something similar.........Maybe is in the systemcode 46 (comfort system)

I need to know the Funtion code.

Big K, THX for your time and help,

Isaac

t/boss i know how to do auto lock/unlock thanks (i've worked on them for 15+ years) and you need to go into 17 (dashboard) and recode the ecu i haven't got the codes untill i get back to work.

IMHO I am not doing too badly giving accurate advice for someone who hasn't got 15+ years experience of servicing Skodas!

No idea but I don't charge a fraction of what a Skoda dealer does! Nor do I need to refer to any workshop manuals!!

Oh, the question was for K, was it? wink.gif

Should do - little red light on the dash whenever a door or

the boot is open.

Thanks Rob -

Oh well, looks like the bulb has gone then. I noticed the 03 also had an audible warning - the lights on buzzer goes off if you switch the ignition on with the door open - yours do that too Rob?

Regards... Rob

I haven't checked that - usually when I turn the ignition on with the door open, I don't have the

seatbelt on so I just get the "seatbelt warning bongs".

Actually, I don't think it does, because I have driven off before without the boot shut properly

before and it didn't sound anything...

Rob.

Sorry K, run out of fivers... Spend it all on ice-creams this weekend :D

I know the Lancer has one , if thats any help! I also know that the first Front wheel drive Galant had not only a door open warning , but a low screenwash warning light and a bulb out warning lamp , and that was in 1983! (I know coz i had one as a loaner years ago....the Lancer is bringing my repressed memories of Mitsu's out of hibernation , i now remember Tredia's Cordias and even the Celeste!!!)
