The thread title is "your Fabia" but I'm throwing this in anyway. Spied this 1.2 Furby on a back street in Salou last week - The only Mk1 I saw.

Definitely a lot cleaner than mine 😄

You should have seen it this morning. It's been washed and the headlamps and windows polished using Asda's finest glass and plastic cleaner. :)

Here's some befores...

I'm still finding bits I've missed, but it's looking not bad. The exterior hadn't been done since the start of May and had clocked up about 2k miles in that time. Next job is to do the interior as it hasn't been done in nearly a year... and with a Spaniel it shows. :D

Nice work, Ryan 👍

Your rear screen seems to be delaminating, Ryan.

Has been like that since I bought it. Am I right in thinking this is a common 'Fabiaism'?

If it falls out, it falls out. :D

Mine is exactly the same and I've seen other Mk1s like that.

The rear window is pretty irritating on mine anyway, it's got a scratch that car headlights just love to refract and blind me on.

My windscreen was doing the same thing, wasn't usable on sunny days or at night for the scratches anyway. Was almost glad that it cracked... just was at an inconvenient time back then.

It's nothing a hammer won't fix :D

Yeah, Ryan pretty standard. Both my MkI Fabias had delamination.

Seen it on other cars as well.

Thought so. I kept closely inspecting Fabias I found in the Tesco car park to see if they were doing the same thing or beginning to do it. 9/10 are. :D

Bit weird 🤣😂🤣

My mk1s rear glass isn't delaminated and I thought It was just luck but no, I found broken glass under some of the trim pieces for the hatch so it was replaced at some point.

Clean again. Was absolutely minging since it's been doing a heck of a lot of mileage in all weathers.

The rear screens cannot de-laminte as it's a single pane item, what happens is the window adhesive eventually shrinks back enough to pull the black coated surround with it, highlighting a now clear line in the black outer part, especially when viewed from outside.

The only cure is a new screen, which is why i fitted a Sundym SE tinted rear screen in my Yellow one.

It's not a UV problem either, my Dad's 54 reg Fabia (40k miles) has been garaged from new and that's gone the same as well. It affects Octavia MK1s as well

Seems to affect the newer models too, we've had a few Mk3s in work with it.

May replace the screen on mine at some point as its been keyed previously and refracts light at night time making driving hellish.

Haha indeed. As is hoovering the inside of the Duster to get all the dog hair and sand out. Dog hair and sand are the base requirements for any Arnie Shark trade-in these days. :D

Multipurpose, and all that. :)
