New lightweight wheels... Thoughts?

Featured Replies

Well I've looked at neuspeeds which look as if the supply is very limited.

I've looked at enkei raijin's but are USA import only and there's a massive waiting list apparently

So what do you think Of these

Going on a white estate not sure which - bronze or grey (don't like the high polished finish)

Thoughts please.

You need to take the full stop out of the end of your link.

Nice wheels though!

Bronze!

Nice wheels. I think I'd go for the gunmetal

They look rather nice. How much do the set cost?

Oobster - did you mail order your wheels from the USA?

Reason for asking is that these are way cheaper over there £600 opposed to £1000 here

you know what I think.

;)

Get you credit card out and stop teasing us!

by the time you added postage and import tax there is not much difference

No, I used a UK company (Niche) who got the wheels from America. Had to wait weeks on them coming over on a container ship.

Niche then put tyres on them & couriered them up to me.

I like the gunmetal ones.

I prefer the bronze ones too.

In reference to oobsters VMR's, I am a dealer for these, but quantity breaks and import duty do make them less attractive than the rrp's you see in the states.

If a few people were interested I could try and sort a decent price.

Matte Bronze, very nice B) I could almost be tempted to get some myself ......... shhh, what's that about a group buy :)

I'd go for anthracite against white myself. What size are you thinking?

Weren`t the LE (Plasticine) wheels TSW , like the look , but if they are still flimsy?

Thinking 18x8.... Apparently only 4 left on Europe Doh! Looks like every wheel I like I'm going to have to join a que!

Nervous of putting a big deposit down though

Pass - these are rotary forged (spun cast really) so hopefully very strong

Enkei do a similar process.

How much do the Neptune wheels weigh in at. I know they are ridiculously heavy which is why the ride is so crashy (as wll as cast iron hubs, brakes and steel suspension) but I havent actually weighed them.

What tax do you pay importing from the states? Is it 20% plus courier handling charge?

Ive been quoted £777 incl postage opposed to £225 each plus vat here in the uk

About 12kg

Found a duty calc app! there really is an app for everything!

Alloy car wheels attract 4% plus the vat - so £197 additional so as a post a few up - not a massive saving

Group buy.... Any traders out there dealing with tsw?

The bronze would be my choice, very tasty :)

In my experience you can sometimes get stuff through from the US without the tax being applied, don't bank on it but you may be lucky.

Two people have told me the weight of a neptune; one said 12.7 the other 13.5kg.. I'll measure one myself at some point to get the definitive answer, but either way they are a heavy wheel.
