New lightweight wheels... Thoughts?

Featured Replies

If they ship using any of the large companies, DHL,FedEx,UPS etc etc you will get stung for any taxes due. You have a better chance of getting away with it, if they use USPS (united states postal service)

Thats my experience getting goods sent to Ireland.

Just been to oulton park to watch F3 and vw cup practice day - bundled a few sets of lightweight alloys in the back of the vrs before leaving ;)

I don't know if it's a control wheel in the vw cup or not but 90% were on team dynamics in anthracite - only variation I saw was a set of white bbs CH's (strange choice given weight I'd have thought - unless they do a mag version?)

They're what I have on my allroad just now. ProRace 1.2 in Satin Graphite were £114+VAT each for 18“ at ET45 (default) - a good compromise as they will fit Scout too, plus specific offset was more expensive.

Tinfoil - nar bakerlite ;) cracknroll

In my experience you can sometimes get stuff through from the US without the tax being applied, don't bank on it but you may be lucky.

Two people have told me the weight of a neptune; one said 12.7 the other 13.5kg.. I'll measure one myself at some point to get the definitive answer, but either way they are a heavy wheel.

Indeed its hit an miss order stuff a few times from the states and have only been hit once (though it was a big order).

I'm sure when I weighed mine they were about the 13kg mark. Very heavy even more so after carrying 4 up 3 flights of stairs!

It's all about business samples for evaluation. Possibly.

Helps if you have a 'friendly' sender - not sure if this sort of thing would fall into that category.

I've just bought these with Falkens 235/35/19

£1000.

I have just fitted my new wheels & before I fitted them, I weighed them & discovered that they are 4--5 pounds lighter than standard wheels.

More photos to follow as soon as I can get the system to upload them!!!

Just hope they're as strong

Look forward to pics :)
