Couple of touch ups needed

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, after 3 monthd of proud ownership, i have decided to treat my 04 Octy to some TLC. I noticed when i was buying the car that in a couple of places, on the drivers door, and front drivers wing, the outer layer(s) of clear lacquer have peeled with age, and probably neglect by previous owners. I have a few days off work fover Easter and want to use the time to treat both my car and swmbo's 206 to some serious cleaning.

My question is, how best to restore/repair the damage to the paintwork on the octy? Would some T-Cut or similar sort it, then polish and wax the Black magic like a lunatic?

Thanks guys :-)

Don't us T-cut its rubbish. Get a proper 1 stage polish like Poor boys swirl rover which is not available at some motorfactors, after which finish it with Poorboys ex-p sealant and Poor boys Natty wax blue but make sure to clay bar it prior.

as for the paint chips, use chipex touch up kit.

Cool, thanks. I'll get down the Motor facotrs tomorrow and see who's got what. Gave the 2 cars a good proper 2 bucket method wash today, and dried off. swmbo's is a completely different colour post washing!! really do need to clay it though, lotta tar and crap stuck the poor thing.

If you want to do it properly....

Snow foam

2BM method

AS tardis

Clay bar

PB swirl remover

Paint cleaner

PB Black hole

PB Sealant

PB Wax

UPDATE:

So i couldnt get any clay, but i did get a bottle of Autoglym tar remover, and a bottle of autoglym paint restorer.

The amount of tar that i took off the missus car was nasty... could sell it the corpo to redo the roads! did the octy too, not as bad, despite doing a lot more driving than her. I must say it did work rather well, no clay experience, so I cant compare it to the autoglym next time tho.

anyway, i then tackled the brush marks down the passenger side with the paint restorer. took the scuff marks off herself's 207 no hassle  ,however it did F-all to the octy, even tho it just looks like fairly typical of a car that spent its time on narrow roads, leaves and twigs rubbing down the side of the car... so, im presuming i need a bottle of paint colour specific polish to really sort it? or a full respray.....
