Cars I've owned -

1990 - Ford Sierra 1.6L

1991 - Ford Sapphire Cosworth 2WD

1992 - VW Corrado G60

1992 - Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi

1993 - Peugeot 309 GTi (Mi-16v conversion)

1993 - Ford Sapphire Cosworth 4WD (sold to fund the Mi-16v conversion plus the other ridiculous amount spent on the pug)

1997 - Ford Mondeo 1.8L (new house purchased)

1998 - Vauxhall Cailbra Turbo 4x4 (rolling roaded at 340bhp)

2001 - Peugeot 406 Coupe 3.0L V6 24v

2004 - Peugeot 307 1.6 SE SW (new baby forces purchase of 110bhp nightmare)

2009 - Octavia vRS Tfsi @ stage 2 - aka the Black Magic Marauder........

2013 - Octavia vRS TSi (maybe) ;)

From a standing start the 309 was ridiculously quick, proven times of sub 5 second 0-62, once going the Calibra was something else, but for all round looks, power and practicality nothing comes close to the vRS.

Thats a list and a half pagy!!!!

The cosworth,s were very nice even now they still turn heads

Did you never consider an escort cosworth??

As for a calibra, you don,t see many of them any more, but sounds like it was a rocket!!!

Always wanted to drive a Subaru or an Audi rs4

I've got mates who have had M3s, RS4s, RS6s and even a Lambo and yes they are stupidly, stupidly fast but you can't use the power on the roads and for me, there's more fun having something people don't expect to be as quick as it actually is. Having said that, would I have an RS6 if I could afford it? Damn right I would!

Ha ha I agree, the best quotation I heard was at oulton park when a group of toff,s were stood behind me as there friend was driving them around in his Ferrari f40, anyway one then said oh look someone has taken a wrong turn in there rubbish estate car!!!!!! And they all laughed,,,, it was a rs6!!!!!! I did laugh

The Cossies were nice, but not all they were cracked up to be, did think about an Escort Cosworth but the price was prohibitive at the time and when they were more in my price range I had more important financial commitments. Yes the Calibra was a rocket and rare as rocking horse shyte in Spectral blue! I did have a couple of old dogs in between, one of which was a 950cc Fiesta Popular Plus which I was forced to use while the Calibra was getting the treatment!

Thanks Mike

Can you tell the difference between mark 1 and 2 Octavia?

I remember I drove an estate mark one and thought it was brilliant, and it's handling superb, I always thought it was 4 x 4

The mk2 (in my opinion) is a much better car than the mk1,i like the mk1 but the mk2 is better in every way.
