You certainly know your stuff longdog

Any Audi a4 style s4 or rs4 are excellent and just to look at them is good

Will yours have leather seats, with the figure hugging seats??

You will have to let me know what it's like

  • What type of track car you lookin at ken??? Have you thought about a Clio or something bigger like a Subaru?

Ha ha what colour 197 is it?

Mine were always blue and my 225 was red and a black 250

What does it handle like??

Red 197.

Handles like a go kart. Sticks to corners like glue. If only the vrs was that that tight on bends.

Bet your looking forward to your s4 Nicky boy??

What type is it? Estate? Colour? They are a lovely car I would only have one if we moved and I could put it in the garage!!!

Andy

Estate black edition in white. It will be garaged every night! Built and delivered in 7 days, probably took the same ship over as Longdogs. We may both get ours on Friday. His has higher spec though and I'm too young and poor to afford a real high spec. I thought 3.5k on options was enough. Cannot wait to have low down grip and power.

Mine has super sport seats in silver and black, black edition (B&O speakers, 19's, flat bottom steering wheel, MMI, privacy glass, black inlays, DAB), folding mirrors, through load, hill hold assist, Parking system plus.

Sold it to me popheads

Thanks for showing the pictures via Facebook

I will join the site tomorrow and. Will use 250vrs as my name

Andy

Enjoy!

Oh please do some of ye really want an Alfa there a tube of ****! Unreliable, fall apart and are worth nothing second hand.

I see Richard Hammond on top gear seems to really like them.

Speaking of top gear did they ever test drive a Vrs diesel or petrol ?

I've gone for red and black super sports seats along with the sports diff and drive select plus a few more bits and bobs. I'll put a few pics up and will let you know what it's like - as long as the skoda die hards don't mind!!

Not at all give us plenty of pics esp tht black red interior!!

I thought about going with these seats also but saw an S4 parked up with the silver and had to go for it. What did you think of the chestnut brown? I thought they looked rubbish. I'm very excited to pick mine up.

I'll be honest with you, I've only ever seen the seats in the flesh in black! The black and red seats were spec'd by the misses who said she didn't care what the car had on it as long as it had them and the B&O speakers!

I've seen them on a TT and RS5 and like the combo so hopefully she's made the right decision !!

She has made the right choice as either way they look and fell awesome. It does the rest of the interior at a higher level of quality as well. When did yours arrive in the UK?

I've come along way, now I look at my car history (IMHO):

Here we go:

* Inherited

C- Reg Polo* (Uncles old car)

K - Reg Volvo V40* (Auto & very cumfy) G'Dad's old car

M-Reg Escort 1.8i - Cost me £5k lasted quite a few years - never will I buy white again! we all know why, yes they only look good 1 day after you wash it.

53 - C3 - New (not sure what I was thinking really but the wife loved it)

06 - C4 VTR (first attempt of a coup'e sporty looking car) - New

09 - C3 Picasso Exl. (Kids arrived on the scene thought i needed a mini MPV) - New

11 - Octy Vrs (realised the kids can sit in a hatchback just fine & wanted some speed after trying a mates car).

Bit of poor show but I got my act together eventually

Boo hiss - as an Alfaholic I can say you haven't got a clue! Drive one - even a lowly 1600 is a nice drive.

My 156 gta was a belter and covered 130k fault free miles

My 'reliable' golf g60 was significantly more problematic

Sounds very nice - keep it locked away out of sight at night! Loads get robbed around ours :(

Agree, my 156 did 160,000 miles, had a few problems, but nothing major. Only downside was that parts are expensive and garages hate working on them (from my experience) but mine was great. Think my octavia (reliable VAG) has had more issues in last 9 months than my 156 did in 4.5 years.

That sounds awesome Nicky!!!!

Don,t put yourself down, owning a s4 is a massive achievement!!! One day I will get mine

I have to say that the interior is brilliant

Sounds lovely marc, yes get some pictures up asap!!!

A physical deterrent is good to have, as it's something else they have to think how to remove and time is of the essence!!!

Well excuse me sure what would I know I'm only a qualified mechanic and vehicle tester so maybe I have a clue! I test lots of alfas every week and have worked on lots over the last 12 years so before u start the whole u havnt a clue crack maybe think before u say! ;( oh and there a tub of **** always were and always will be :)

There. Is always one or two poor vehicles that slip through which are rubbish,,,

I have to say that the engine noise of an Alfa is a reason to put up with getting your hands dirty once or twice!!!!

I too, have nothing but praise for the Alfa's, My 156 was 4 year totaly trouble free, and always thought it was a lovely car to look at and drive :)

Sure it was just the 1.8ts, not a full fat V6, but it was one of few cars I actually was sad to see go.

Like anything, if you know what to look out for when buying, they are no less reliable than anything else.

As a Davidsr20 is a mechanic, I guess he tends to see the worst examples ?

Sleeping is getting progressively harder!

Problem is I can't shift my VRS so getting a horrible trade in.

I will post some pics in the general car chat when I pick it up.
