OK, rather than the cost of retro fitting all the OEM gubbins I'm going to put a Parrot kit in the Octavia (Balero head unit), probably the MKi9200 again

Anyone here installed anything similar?

If so do you have pics of where you mounted the screen and the remote?

Cheers.

Mine has a parrot 3100. It was fitted before I bought it and is mounted between the centre air vents below the hazard switch. Which all still work fine. It's a good position as its central. I will try and get you a pic

Here you go pal

I have mine in the same spot but I ran the cable out under the storage box for a slightly cleaner finish with no cable visible.

Evening Trikster,

I have the Parrot MK9200 fitted to my Scout. See the hyperlink below. My posts are 20, 22 and 24.

I still stand where I put the display is fine, I have had no problems reading it, and it is in the corner, so I think if the SRS deploys it should push it away from the passenger. My microphone is on the drivers side A pillar, but I think it would be better placed above the rear view mirror. It is a great system, just remember to keep the software updated. I have the iPod, USB cables placed in the glovebox. Unfortunately I now have a Samsung Galaxy SII (in my opinion a better phone than the iPhone 3GS I had!) but you can't charge it with the cables!

Hope this helps.

How's that screen actually fixed?

Mines stuck on with tape

Small wire goes in where the plastic trim stops next to the centre console as I didn't want to drill anything

Yeah, mines just stuck on with some double sided tape. Not much weight in the screen so it holds fine.

Mine is the other side of the vent wheel, to the right of yours and says Andy's iPhone

Richie,

Like this - probably where I'll mount mine - is it pretty straight forward to lift the surround of the vents/storage box?

Also, where did you mount the box of bits - in the Fabia I did it behind the glovebox, but reading a number of posts on here sounds like it may fit behind the a/c controls?or under the storage box? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick.

Finally, where have you run the iPod connection to?

Will order the bits this week so hopefully delivered when i return from this weeks travels - be able to fit it next w/e then :)

Thanks in advance.

Rich.

Mines exactly the same as Gregs, except it says Chris on it (unlike the fruit fanboys I'm able to just use the word Phone :D) It doesn't even make the plastic look stretched where the cable comes though. No idea how it's attached though as it was done by the previous owner

Just plug a micro USB cable in to the USB female of the Parrot -works for me I use it to power my add on DAB

The storage box just pops out. Lever it up from the front with a blunt instrument of some sort. There are no screws holding it. The wiring for the hazard switch can then be disconnected so you can remove the box completely.

I have the parrot control box in behind here. There is some space to the left where you should be able to hide it along with most of the cables. I have the ipod cable in the glovebox as I dont really use it for music much. I have all of my music on the Columbus or I can stream via bluetooth if I have to. I removed the glovebox to drill a hole in the back for the cable. If you want to charge your phone and have it in view you may need to put it somewhere else.
