Was my Vrs remapped?

Featured Replies

I took the car to be remapped today and the fella had a rolling road and he put the Vrs on before the remap.

It returned 155bhp and 244 lb/ft.

Has anyone put a standard Fabia Vrs on a RR and get the book figures or was it slightly more?

I did question if it was remapped and if so was there point of actually remapping it today.

I did of course lol hopefully won't put too much pressure on it as everything is standard apart from pd160 intake.

New figures after today's remap

172bhp and 272lb/ft

Which I am happy with.

Anyway what you guys think more than likely already remapped with the above figures?

The BLT engines produced more BHP than advertised, My 06 Fabia Vrs was faster and pulled better than my 04 plate AZ* engine which was super chipped

Howdy.

It is quite common for the BLT engine fitted to the later fabias to produce more than the 130bhp 'book' figure, something to do with the EGR valve IIRC.

Plus engines do 'wear in', thus freeing up the moving internals and allowing more power output than day 1 of the engine.

How does it drive with the new map? When I had mine mapped by Shark, the difference was obvious - smooth delivery of oodles of torque from 1500rpm up to 4750ish, rather than the standard map's 'lump' of torque at 2-2.5k.

He beat me to it! :giggle:

Would the age difference of your cars meant that they also had different gearboxes? One short & one long? That would influence the performance also.

It does pull very well, the speedo fills up nice and steady. My bro recently bought an A6 Avant 2.7TDI and he remapped that today too. When we both went at it he didn't pull away which meant I was ???? lol

I know it's alot heavier but it's still a remapped car too.

Just wish I had a passenger to record it.

One was long and the other was short but I can't remember which was which, I think it was only 6th gear though,

Someone will be along soon to correct me

Earlier cars had longer gears throughout the box, especially 6th. Makes for better fuel economy :)

Early cars had the long box. During 2004 they changed to shorter boxes. Think the first two gears are similar but the rest are shorter. You notice it on a rolling road. Early cars hit 110mph in fourth. Later cars only manage around 9mph.

Later Blt engine have different mapping.

9mph in fourth? Wow, thats no good :giggle:

Also to the OP, I've seen a standard BLT engine dyno at 155 bhp so it's not necessarily been remapped before.

The standard map usually falls off the power band after 3000rpm, where as a mapped car will still be pulling past 4000rpm.

My standard one rr'd at 157.1bhp and 259lb/ft so sounds standard.

My 06 BLT Fabia vRS made 152bhp and 239lbs ft pre map, and then made 182bhp and 277lbs ft once mapped.

Lol I mean 90mph. Stupid phone.
