The FL vRS is definately 55mm. IIRC it wasn't to do with build year it was something to do with brake size. If you had 288mm fronts or higher it was 55mm. the 286mm fronts and lower were 50mm. I vaguely remember seeing that somewhere but i could have dreamt it

Think it's to do with front axle weight - 2.0 diesels and the 2.0 petrol are 55mm, 1.8 petrol and below are 50mm. I looked into it last year when i put FSDs on my petrol L&K. Lots of grovelling reaching behind the front wheel to measure the circumference of the dampers with string and then working out the diameter from that as no one was too sure what I needed...

Thanks chaps

Be interested to see how you get on with the company as at that price they're worth a try.

What's the difference between the b12 and the b14 kits?

What's the difference between the b12 and the b14 kits?

B12 are fixed height, fixed damping (ie its a shock and spring kit) where B14 are coilovers (ie height adjustable, but still fixed damping).

HTH.

And b12 presumably cheaper?

How easy was that? Did you do it online?

yup.

I contacted them first and was quoted 20 euro shipping. Before I ordered the price online had gone up to 615 euro but Bjorn (via email) agreed 585 shipped (which is only slightly more than the old price). I ordered online (at the 615 price) and Bjorn promised to sort out the difference. Since then I've had dispatch notices and lots of emails from their payment system (iClear) but nothing from Bjorn (despite several emails from me asking what's going on).

There are 3 variants on their website for the non combi but they are all the same. In the initial dialog he said to order any of them and they would ensure the correct one is sent for my car, again - I've had no confirmation of the correct type since ordering so feeling a little uneasy about the whole thing, don't want to be shipping stuff back to Germany if it's not right.

iClear also wanted a fax / photo of my credit card and photo id "to reduce fraud", I refused to send my details in an unsecure email so agreed to blank out some of the c-card numbers (they only wanted the front) and I obscured license number from photo of my driver's license.

Will update once I know more (and suggest that there may be more sales their way if all goes well).

Indeed, I am interested too. However, I was put off by the the separate listings on the website for the Octavia saloon which seemed to show the same B12 product.

Pics anyone of the "standard" and sportline?

How much faffing around is there with the B14 kit in setting ride height? I just want to fit and forget.

As said, yes, but by how much depends entirely on where you buy them from as you can end up paying as much for a B12 kit as for a B14 kit. I've just bought some B14s at a good price but I could have bought a B12 kit in the UK for almost £200 less.

Hopefully not much. A certain amount of adjustment is available on the car and at their highest setting they should give a 20mm drop (believe). Mine will go on around mid way to allow some adjustment to just below their highest setting but can be dropped if the mood takes me.

How easy are they to adjust when fitted? Presumably you need some kind of tool to give some kind of lever / mechanical advantage?

Just to let everyone know we have one of the B12 kits in stock for the VRS and after it's gone it looks like they'll be a few weeks wait from Bilstein before we can get it again.

Damian @ DPM Performance

How much Damian?

That's a VERY good price IMO.

Its a "C" spanner that comes with the kit, same for all coilovers. Pretty easy to wind them up and down - I did this many time on the bilstein coilovers I had on one of my lotus's but in reality on the skoda I have had jkm do all the adjustment for me (prefer to pay someone else rather than rip the skin off my knuckles like I used to.! lol..)
