Which cloth cleaner?

Featured Replies

Greetings all just require some recommendations on the best cloth interior cleaner for the VRS seats... As you all may know they are a nightmare to keep spotless... My seats arent looking too good with various stains gathered over time... I NEED to restore them HELP

Interested to know this too, previous owner of mine must have tried his hardest to see how dirty he could get the seats

LOL tell me about it... The best solution is to upgrade to the SE leathers but money dont grow on trees :(

I'm thinking of "hovering" over the seat rather than sitting on it. Oh, and not letting anyone else in the car :-)

Autoglym interior shampoo, in a spray. Great stuff.

I managed to get a lot of marks and staining out with AG, but i think they need a professional clean

Simples. A nice laundry detergent works well and smells nice afterwards. Flash spray for stubborn marks. I've never used any expensive brands and believe me I have cleaned hundreds of seats over my years in the trade.

Main thing is you need to get the material WET, not just using a damp cloth. Get the material properly wet, lots of elbow grease then use an old clean towel to rub it fairly dry.

As it happens I did my missuses SDI yesterday afternoon. 4 kids and a little terrier dog had turned the seats into a god awful mess. Today they are lovely and clean and bone dry.

Good info, I just need a period of time where I can give the seats some moisture without having to sit on them!! (My dogs have yet to ride in her but that will happen at some point I guess!!

Go to your local tescos and hire a rug doctor, they work a treat :)

You'd be amazed how quickly they dry!

I went for a drive last night to put some heat into the car to help things along a bit as the weather isnt too nice and just folded a large towel in half and sat on it. Kept my butt dry and pulled plenty of moisture out of the seat too.

Can't beat doing it in some nice hot sunny weather though!

Oh just one more thing, make sure you wet the whole seat panel not just the small area of a stain as it avoids those horrid drying marks.

I prefer the liquids. Persil, ariel, bold.....they are all good. Make the solution as strong as you think you need it to be depending on the level of dirtiness of the cloth.

Those who have used the rug doctor products, did you use the carpet cleaner(£10) upholstery cleaner(£10) or the stain remover(£3 in spray bottle) I'm going to borrow a vax to do the interior

I used AG hi foam and it worked a treat for me, but it's on black ibiza seats.
