Dash Cams

Featured Replies

up date    had a look and there is indeed power to the boot light with the tailgate shut (lamps off) however after timing down there is still a measurable 5-7v depending on being locked or unlocked, not tested further to see if it ever drops to zero,  or if this would put a steady drain on the battery,  I guess a lot would depend on the internal switching of the particular camera

  • It's funny. Before I found this site, I would never have dreamt of doing mods or even considered buying a dash cam! A bad influence you lot are!!

  • This picture should sum up what I got around to today and what element to this task went wrong after I returned from an extended test drive for a comparison video v the Blackvue.........     chrisw

  • Because you'll have a dead phone after a while from it constantly writing to the flash memory, unless you use a replaceable card.   Because you can leave the camera in the car when parked up to catc

Slight resurrection of an old post, but what right angled adaptors have you guys used to help with wires please?

I am looking at this but wondered if anyone bought from maplins or a store please?

I worked out whether I needed left or right handed and then just bought a long usb lead with the correct connector. Avoids another point of failure.

I bought a nextbase hardwire kit to the the mini comes straight from a box mounted under the dash, no USB at all to work with. In the Octavia, it fit just behind the rearview mirror. My screen mount has arrived today, the sticky one so I am hoping this will fit the same so that no adaptor is required. Finger crossed
