My 1st Yeti niggle!

Featured Replies

Smileys only work if you can see them. On the works system, such as now, I don't see them. (except your typed one! :-))

As I said, I have no problem with Geoff saying he has a problem with it, but I will take exception to is someone (anyone) saying that "everyone else" suffers from the same problem, when that is patently an exaggeration, as has now been proved.

And lets be honest, if that is the only thing that we can find fault on the Yeti then it must be a bloody good car!

"And lets be honest, if that is the only thing that we can find fault on the Yeti then it must be a bloody good car! ".....................

Yes, that's true.

But I do seem to recall someone getting quite exercised about a light bulb in November 2011 ......

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/215783-i-give-up/page__hl__light%20bulb

And there were some quite 'direct' posts by yourself, Graham................all over a light bulb! ........... :-)

Anyway, enough from me. Except to say regarding the smileys...you can't blame anyone else if you can't see their smileys ( Smileys only work if you can see them. On the works system, such as now, I don't see them. (except your typed one! :-)). That's hardly their fault is it?

One final smiley... (typed, so you can see it) ......... :-)

Teasing our favourite welsh based off roading railway expert is good fun, and he may have led with his chin by being grumpy about this. In my view the thread title says it all-it is a niggle and shouldn't be a cause for squabbles. The fact that llanigraham may have unusually configured or developed arms/elbows from operating those huge brass levers......."You are old father William, the young man said...."

Blimey! I wouldn't fancy your chances should you venture on to Welsh Marches Line...you'd be shunted into sidings, never to be seen again!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Are_Old,_Father_William

‘You are old, Father William,’ the young man said,

‘And your hair has become very white;

And yet you incessantly stand on your head -

Do you think, at your age, it is right?’

‘In my youth,’ Father William replied to his son,

‘I feared it might injure the brain;

But, now that I’m perfectly sure I have none,

Why, I do it again and again.’

‘You are old,’ said the youth, ‘as I mentioned before,

And have grown most uncommonly fat;

Yet you turned a back-somersault in at the door -

Pray, what is the reason of that?’

‘In my youth,’ said the sage, as he shook his grey locks,

‘I kept all my limbs very supple

By the use of this ointment - one shilling the box -

Allow me to sell you a couple?’

‘You are old,’ said the youth, ‘and your jaws are too weak

For anything tougher than suet;

Yet you finished the goose, with the bones and the beak -

Pray how did you manage to do it?’

‘In my youth,’ said his father, ‘I took to the law,

And argued each case with my wife;

And the muscular strength, which it gave to my jaw,

Has lasted the rest of my life.’

‘You are old,’ said the youth, ‘one would hardly suppose

That your eye was as steady as ever;

Yet you balanced an eel on the end of your nose -

What made you so awfully clever?’

‘I have answered three questions, and that is enough,’

Said his father; ‘don’t give yourself airs!

Do you think I can listen all day to such stuff?

Be off, or I’ll kick you down stairs!’

My parents chose the yeti model that didn't have the centre box as they find them a PITA.

Doh, get a life people! you either put up or shut up regarding niggles or change to something perfect which I suggest will cost the earth even if does exist!

Imo the OP should be allowed to bring up things of concern, even if it is just a 'niggle'! Its a public forum and problems are one of many things that can be discussed here. I tend to find someones posts on here particulalrly pedantic and 'picky' but to avoid conflict I simply decide to ignore them and not reply to them. I dont think its fair to minutely over analyse every part of a post however, especially when its generally irrelevant to the simple question being asked. :)

I wish people would read what I actually say, not what they think I was saying!

I have no problem with people commenting on what they consider a "niggle", what I was moaning about was Ian's comment::

Yes it's the same for me and everyone else,(except Graham.) :)

Which is obviously untrue, as has been posted by others here.

This forum is well behaved compared to many of the others.

I use forums extensively, especially when researching a new purchase. I have found this one to be (by and large) full of useful information, provided by helpful people.

Totally agree and I dont want anyone thinking im saying anything different. Im on a few forums and overall, this is THE best, nicest place to hang out for car related stuff. :)

Cruel, cruel people ... poking poor Graham through the bars of his cage with sharp sticks ... he doesn't deserve it! :angel:

I'm with you, I'm a bit over 6' 2" seat all the way back, and wouldn't have known there was a problem till I read Geoff's post. So definitely not "everyone else."

+100% on the last line, it is!!!

I take the handbrake off, then slide the armrest forward when I'm driving. i don't think it gets much easier than that, does it?

My last car (Mazda Premacy) had an armrest on the drivers seat that meant you had to raise your right elbow slightly to avoid it when using the handbrake. Maybe due to that I have no problem at all with the centre box. I've even got used to KPH on the maxidot!

Just curious.

Where is the handbrake in the RHD cars? Is it on the right side of the centre console or on the left side as it is in the LHD cars?

It's the same as the LHD cars ... which I suspect is part of the problem (at least for those who experience it as a problem). Essentially it's a LHD design, so for RHD cars it's further from the driver.

Let's not start that argument again :rofl: (there's a smiley in there Graham). I, for one, want the kph in maxidot for when I'm driving in Europe.

Use the Beoworld forum extensively as for my sins, I restore classic pieces, always lots of help, few gripes, petty niggles etc - their stuff can be on a par with Skoda prices and they can be more complex IT wise!

I realise it is a chalk and cheese comparison, but still valid I feel!

Just my six pennuth!

Thanks.

Mine is nearer the driver, than passenger, so must be different than LHD model I presume.

So is mine, right hand side of the cup holders.

+1

Mine is nearer to the Drivers seat than the Passenger's,

RH side of the cup holders.

Sorry, it appears I was talking out of my *rs* again ... mine is also closer to the drivers seat. Call it a senior moment.

Phew...so is mine...had to check to make sure though. :giggle:

When the handbrake is between the drivers seat and on left side of the centre console, I don't have any problems to use it on any position of the jumbo box. Using the handbrake everytime when parking.
