Briskoda Trackday

Featured Replies

Afternoon All

Following the success of Monday's Briskoda How Fast another track outing for Briskoda could be on the cards and i've been trying all week to work out how best to approach it.

As luck would have the guys at Club MSV have been in touch to make sure we enjoyed Monday and - i guess at the crux of it - to plug us for more business.

In an attempt to entice us back onto track NIck has offered to extend the club booking discount from the How Fast event to a trackday meaning 10% off if we book more than 10 spaces.

Club MSV operate/own Brands Hatch, Cardwell Park, Oulton Park, Snetterton and Bedford Autodrome so we have a fair choice!!

A day at Bedford is always going to be the most convinient as it's the most centrally located however the track won't have the character of "actual" race track.

I'm easy and open to suggestions but the one that stands out for me is

Saturday 14 Jul Bedford Autodrome SEN Circuit Open Pit Lane Track Day Full Day £175

Thats the rest of the track we didn't use on Monday and is pretty much the most reasonably priced

If anyone fancies anything stick itup and see if there's interest

can you not do it at oulton? best track in the country and only ten minutes from me :giggle:

Yep Oulton is of course an option (I loved the day i did there in December) but the MSV days are £225!!

Dammit Cliff, stop making me want to spend my money!!

I think I'm going to have to say no to 14th July though. Event on at work (free booze ;)) and I really need to save more for Prague.

cant you wangle it and get it cheaper? multi bookings must get you some sort of discount. i dont mind spending the extra as id spend the extra in fuel getting to bedford lol.

Swings and roundabouts. Some would have to pay the extra, and then pay for fuel to get to Oulton......

Knowing Cliff he will have beaten them fairly hard with the Briskoda Bargain stick. :giggle:

That may be soo, but Oulton has so many elevation changes and camber changes. The tracks alot more fun and challenging to drive than bedford. Definatly worth the extra! IMO of course.

And get the beating stick out even harder!!! oulton is 150 in the later months of the year.

We could do Mallory Park? 10 minutes from my house.....

Cliff, consider yourself told.... call them, tell them rich53 said you should get it cheaper!!

Play nice boys

...id spend the extra in fuel getting to bedford lol.

...and you'd spend even more so if we did a day at Brands; but the guys who live next to that circuit would be quids in.

Everyone has to come from somewhere - some will win - some will lose.

I agree that Oulton is an excellent track and becomes more reasonable later in the year it was just a heads up thread that MSV have offered us club discount if we can get something sorted

Exactly, Brands is a good track and close to some of us. :)

But we need somewhere a more more central IMO.

Unless enough South East Briskodians want to do Brands... which which case I'm there. :D

jeeze jonny. i was only giving my opinion no need to be like that about it.. and just for the record mallory isnt a msv track. :giggle:

I dont mind where it is, but IN MY OPINION Oulton or Cadwell would be at the top of my list. Cadwells rather central isnt it?

Simply giving my opinion that:

1. Cliff had already negotiated a "loyalty" discount (see post #1) which, in your opinion, portrayed in post #7 as not enough of a discount. Who's to say that further discount may not be forthcoming should enough of an uptake be seen?

2. Whichever circuit is chosen it's not always going to be close to home for everyone, put simply by Cliff in post #9

Thank you. I know Mallory isn't an MSV circuit. Merely highlighting the inferrence of a circuit that is "closer to home" being more favourable. ;)

For the record (12" TechnoTrousers Dance Like your dad Remix on Limited edition Boot Print Vinyl) Castle Combe is not an MSV track, nor is it close to my house, but it'd be top of my list

Im definatly up for another one! :) what about an evening rather than a full day... They seem to be more reasonable and tbh i dunno if i would want to thrash my car for a whole day... My tyres seemed to have had a lot of punnishment at bedford and that was only for an hour, god knows what the state of them would be after a full day... I say Brands Hatch Evening :) ohh and Bedford is nearest to me ;)

Cheers Pasty for all the oraganising! I can imagine it bing a right pain in the a*s

CADWELL PARK ;)

What about Thruxton? That would be hairy...

Bear in mind you dont HAVE to drive all day it just means you can go out whenever you want.

When i did the day at Oulton in the Ibiza in December i probably did 20 minutes on 30 minutes off and ran for about an hour and a three quarters all day.

With an open pit lane day the opportunity to hop from passenger seat to passenger seat it much more readily available than Monday's timed event.

I don't think they run public trackdays at Thruxton only their driving experiences in the supercars

and yes Cadwell would be awesome

Moving away from MSV of course Javelin run evenings at Cadwell for £69, evenings at Snetterton for £79, ar a full day at Mallory for £149 (just for you Baz), Angelsey for £129

I'm sure they'd also be open to club bulk booking discount too if i pushed them...

The options truly are endless

I understand that but your paying alot more for essentially driving or a little bit longer... I still think an evening woul be best :) they are about £119 at Brands before our 10%. i think you get 2hours on track?

I would be up for a half day/eveining session, but i dont think i would attend a whole day sesion as i would be driving home on the same tyres as i would have on the car screaming round the track.

Just my 50p :)

As far as tracks go anythings good with me as long as itals not on South Coast or Knock Hill ;)

What about donnington, i know it tends to be abit more expensive but sure it was less than 225 quid with javlin and thats quiet central with plenty of run off if you get it wrong

I'd happily do Oulton again, was worth the long drive up (stayed the night before and after). Awesome circuit.

Also want to do a Brands evening at some point, in which case I'll give you a shout Richard, seeing as you are so close!

Enjoyed the Brisky trackday @ Angelsey in (I think) 2005. Stayed the night nearby and did full track day. Was awesome then and now the circuit is even bigger. :D

Up for a Wiltshire airfield day too. :D

The advantage of angelsey is EVERYONE has to drive bloody miles to get there.....

I'd be up for a track day to have a go in the fabia. Cadwell would be fun.

There's a relatively new venue at Blyton near Gainsborough, reasonable offers through Javelin

Fairly central too
