Seat Belts sticking on return

Featured Replies

I am sure I have read somewhere on this site that spraying the seat belts with polish and wiping them will help them retract into the pillar - is this correct or any other ideas rather than replacement?

Thanks in advance

I would have thought that if a belt is sticking when it is retracting then that would be the mechanisum and not the belt.

Give it some WD40 and it'll become as new...

Silicone spray or furniature polish are your friends.

Thanks for replies

Before you spray anything on it, I'd just try giving it a hoover and a wipe with a slightly damp cloth.

Worked wonders for mine :)

don't spray the belt with polish directly - you might find it retracts a little too quickly for comfort. Spray a cloth and rub the belt with it - both sides. It's worked for me fine, on two cars.

cheers

Thanks again for all replies.

Maybe even fully extending it and letting it dry out - that is if it feels a bit cold and damp at the "inner" end - then obviously cleaning it and spraying it will finish the job off.
