Time for Rossi to retire?

Featured Replies

I have a theory.

I am a big Vale fan. Have books on him etc etc.

I think the leg break really dented his confidence.

He seems to do well at tracks he is confident on, not so well at the ones that are scary and the brickyard is well scary as the grip just disappears in some corners.

  • Brilliant ride, brilliant result, brilliant lap times, could have been up with Lorenzo if he'd been closer at the start Thank heavens he ditched Ducati

  • Lorenzo's gates at his home in Los Montesinos. This is just along from where my mother lives. BTW, I don't think rossi is past it.

Fourth, even though a bit down on third, was an awesome result in reality..............great last few laps, shame he couldn't have done it for the full distance  :)

Hopefully Yamaha will use their seamless gearbox by the end of the year which should give Vale, Lorenzo and  Bradley, Cal about 0.01 on every upward shift ie as much as 0.1 to 0.2 per lap plus the ability to change gear better at high lean angles and kinder on the tyre though that might actually take some of Vale advantage compared to other Yamaha riders as that is what he is particularly good at.

Seamless gear shift or not I think Yamaha will struggle against Honda's secret weapon a certain Marc Marquez! They guy is unbelievable!!

Anyone going to Silverstone for the Moto Gp?

I'm going for qualifying on the Saturday.

The thing that's worrying me about Marc M is that I can see him emptying his bucket of luck before he fills his bucket of experience.

How good was that race though even the wife was glued to the tv. And Nicky wasn't letting dovi beat him on home turf was he? jesus!

Penny-wise, pound foolish though. Nicky managed to let Bradley past the both of them to not get beat by Dovi.

Who cares ducati have given him the shove, no love loss between team mates and i doubt nicky will be bothered about ducati's net loss in manufacturer points, getting over the line before dovi was imperitive.

It all made darn good racing though. I loved it. I do share kenoneill's view about Marquez though. He seems so far on the edge that he must fall off it at some time. It is just breathtaking to watch him.

Well, I'd care if I'd been thinking of hiring Nicky. I'd take a team player over a loose cannon any time, particularly when the loose cannon isn't as good as he thinks he is.

Can words describe just how good Marquez is?

Can words describe just how good Marquez is?

NO

Can words describe just how good Marquez is?

In the words of Telly Sevalas "a picture paints a thousand words".

I nearly cried when Stoner retired as he was clearly the class if the field, even over old school Rossi.

Marquez style is awesome and he is in his Rookie year !

Unless he injuries himself he is World Champ in waiting.

Rossi to retire, as every race goes buy I thinking a little more "yes".

Still a very good rider but now too cautious and almost too old at 34.

I'm looking fwd to next weekend do I can see this motoring spectacle in the flesh!

What a brilliant Silverstone race, Scott Redding was awesome in the Moto2, and is Marc Marquez a machine?, nobody should be able to race like that after a dislocated shoulder 2 hours ago. Rossi looked good, but just think the bar is going up so high now that he looks a bit off colour, which is a shame as I am a big fan.

Pedrosa looked like he wasn't putting Marc on his Christmas card list this year :giggle: , and based on current form, why does Pol Espargaro deserve a works ride next year and not Scott?.

I would love to see Scott Reading on a Tech 3 bike with Bradley smith .

Great racing as usual ! Scott was just Awsome! Lorenzo is riding at his highest level ever but must be worried by the rookies unbelievable ability.

By chance I bumped into Pedrosa and Marquez but only managed a pic of Pedrosa before they disappeared on the back of some scooters.

Speaking of Marquez and his hurty shoulder - Does anyone else think he deserves at least a one race ban for that incident?

What incident?

What incident?

The yellow flag incident in warm up when maquezs bike slammed into Crutchlows which was already in the dirt. Marquez didn't slow for the yellow flag in fact he was going so fast he had a masive crash which caused his injury.

He now has a 2 point warning. If he gets another 2 points he will start at the back of the grid for the next race.

I don't think that will slow him though lol!

The padock was highly amused by Marquez's stoppie in the pits when he realised he didn't put his pit speed limiter on lol! Did any one see it ?

The guy is pure entertainment!

Yellow Flag

Shown waved at each row of the starting grid, this flag indicates that the start of the race is delayed. Shown waved at the flag marshal post, this flag indicates that there is a danger ahead. The riders must slow down and be prepared to stop. Overtaking is forbidden up until the point where the green flag is shown.

Any Infringement of this rule during a practice session will result in the cancellation of the time of the lap during which the infraction occurred. In case of infringement of this rule during the race, the rider must go back the number of positions decided by the Race Direction.

During the final inspection lap, this flag must be waved at the exact place where the flag marshal will be positioned during the practices, warm-ups and races

Does anyone think that this, or a suspended sentence, is adequate punishment for basically thowing your bike at marshalls who're attending to an earlier crash?

If so, then I suggest that they try marshalling for themselves!

Marquez will start from the back of the grid if he collects any more naughty boy points . That could ruin his championship so it's a significant punishment.
