READ THE HANDBOOK!

Featured Replies

Back in the 70s I remember ridiculing my boss , for finding out a feature on his Skoda car a year after purchase. There weren’t many features on cars in those days, i.e. on my VW beetle ventilation was by opening the windows!

My Scout is in comparison like the Starship Enterprise.

So here I am nearly 2 years into ownership , and I had for some noticed when reversing that the rear wiper activated now again. Each time I thought I had knocked the wiper stick.

A couple of weeks ago the penny dropped, and I realised it must be a feature to wipe the rear screen when reverse is engaged and the main wipers are on.

Sure enough I looked in the handbook , and there it was in black in white, and I thought I had carefully read each page.

Likewise my daughters nearly new Fiesta, despite reading the manual and going into the radio menu numerous times, we couldn’t get the rear door speakers to work. Eventually after looking on the internet it seems Ford to save costs made one door panel with speaker grills to fit all 4 door models , irrespective of whether rear speakers are fitted or not.

Ever been had!

You may also notice that if your a/c fan is activated, with or without a/c compressor being turned on, then when in reverse a/c recirculation will be activated automatically. No you will not see the recirculation button turns into orange but you will hear the flaps close and when in first gear open again.

Also if your a/c fan is activated, your a/c compressor is off and blow direction is not in windshield then if you turn blow direction knob to windshield then a/c compressor will turn on automatically.

Then you may notice that if any door (except driver's) is open you are able to lock the car remotely via key fob, then you close the door and your car is locked. This can't be done if driver's door is open, if that door is open then you are unable to lock the car.

Wow. I had just begun to notice that on mine. But hadn't got to the point of realising it was cos I was in reverse with the front wipers on.

Same here, I figured it out a couple weeks ago after racking my brain for the reason it intermittently came on while i was parking... a long look through the book and problem solved.

On my old car, Octavia from 2006. When the front wiper was on. If I then stop the car, the wipers was set to it lowest interval and when I start to drive again. It returned to it previous setting. Realtor nice feature. Sadly this feature is not in my Roomster.

Mine does

Mine does not automatically slow down when i stop either
