Murdered by a Civic Type-R

Featured Replies

Had a little play with a Civic Type-R today, and got my fingers a little burned! I could see him coming up fast behind me as I approached my favourite roundabout, so I gave it some stick and let him catch up to go up the sliproad.

On the sliproad, I floored it in second gear. He was glued to my behind all the way up to the limiter. As I slotted it into third, I thought I'd found reverse by mistake. He sailed past and we both gave one another a thumbs-up

All in good humour. However it left me thinking that surely the mismatch shouldn't have been so big! I know the CTR is a quicker car, even than a chipped vRS, but the ease with which he demolished me wasn't funny.

Maybe it's time to think about getting an old S4 Avant after all... :rubchin:

You can chip a CTR as well you know...

You can also put a supercharger on it. :D

Japanese CTRs are 220bhp standard, as some of u may know u can import them.

Just giving some reasons for u to ease your pain and frustrations

If it makes you feel any better, i humbled a bmw 330i clubsport today... he wasnt best impressed to see me glued to him

same here but not a club sport one.

Underbraked him at the M56 roundabout towards birkenhead and accelerated towards the lpool traffic lights. Left him for dead. Although he did have 3 passengers in his car:P

More beer anyone? :D

not that fast. the type R is only about 15 sec. 1/4 mile. Tom. :D

im suprised it was so easy for him! My friend has a chipped Leon cupra tdi and he can easily stay with and often beat our friends type R.

Best bit is im only a little bit slower than the chipped cupra so not far of the type R :)

I've had a friendly banter with one, and I easily kept up with him, so either his had been fettled with or you are not a very good driver ;)

few people turbo them, can whoop an R32 then!!

CTR's should pose no problem to a well remapped 1.8T nor should an R32.

I have had run-ins with plenty of CTR's, also R32's and have never been whooped in a straight line.

I stayed with Tabs' R32 which was remapped to 270ish bhp from 30-130 (ish) which should give you an indication of what is expected of a good re-map.

The Type R is pretty fast, it takes the Cooper S works & the new Golf GTI easy.

Though I'd like to say I have a video of me right up the a** of an Infinity G35 :D

That air filter I got really did work..

I was raped by my friend in his 35oZ though.... :o

just to clarify i meant an R32 skyline not the golf, sorry my bad :o

In that case then no Im not faster than an R32!!

All no match for me :) (well my other car that is)

Can you guess what it is ?

looks big and super-charged, what is it?

Rob, what car do you have?

If its the standard furby vrs im not surpised he beat you as there not as quick as the standard octy, if its a stock octy im still not surprised for a start hes pulling 20bhp more and its a bit of a david a goliath show down..

Joel
