Peanut Butter

Featured Replies

I was looking for info on improving the blackness of the rubbing strips on my Octy Vrs and read about the peanut butter theory. I didn't like the idea of wasting smooth or crunchy on my bumpers so i came up with an alternative.

I bought some ground nut oil from my local supermarket ( basically peanut oil without the mess) and applied it yesterday. What a result it looks like new, will keep you all updated with how long it lasts between applications.

Has anyone tried this or anything similar?

The peanut butter trick is well documented on briskoda... except dogs tend to lick the bumpers after applying it!

I heard that a light going over with a blow-torch or small flame brings back the colour also.

Just make sure there are no dogs licking the bumper if you decide to go at it with a blow-torch

I know quite a few dogs who are partial to wrapping their tongue round some nuts!

It is the peanut oil in the Peanut butter that does the trick, just that you are more likely to find peanut butter in your cupboard than peanut oil, and also if you feel peckish you can eat it as well!

makes you wonder how it was whittled down to peanuts but I think the answer has now been given.

Every time I see the jar in the cupboard I think of my car and now licking dogs, blowtorches etc

Ah,the price of vanity (I'm still going to try it though  )
