Whats the most i can push this transmission to?

Featured Replies

I drive a Octavia 2.0L CR, 5 speed Manual Transmission - identification code KQM. This transmission is rated for 85kW/110bhp and 250nm. What is the outer limit to which i can push this transmission in a stage 1 remap?

Cheers,

A stage-1 remap will be well within the limits of the gearbox. And a good map shouldn't put too much extra strain on the clutch and flywheel, although they'll obviously be dealing with higher levels of torque.

the 2.0 cr engine with 110hp didn´t make over here on Skoda.

But on golfs people have meaking the same or more as the 140hp. They say it´s all the same except for the ECU software

I always thought that it was only a difference of software but if you start to look at part numbers for turbos, fuel pumps etc you will see there is more to it than that. I was working on TT 1.8 225 last week and I was shocked at how big the air intake was compared to my old 180 vRS which has the same block, although some 180 vRS drivers are running at 225 due to a remap.

The torque rating is the important bit. How much torque are others getting away with?

Thanks for your responses.

I have looked at part numbers of turbo and injectors and they are exactly the same as the 140bhp avatar. I only difference i found was in the transmission which is a lower rating transmission.

i repeat what Kiwibacon :) has asked..what peak torque can one get away with.

Cheers

Gear ratio dif. is like the normal octavia 1.6tdi and the Greenline versions, the Greenline has dif. gear ratio on the 4/5 gear. If not mistaken.

Here´s a diagram on a golf with no particule filter

that is due to the TT having a k04 turbo
