My Driver’s door lock barrel keeps spinning so unable to lock/unlock the door. I am able to obtain access through the tailgate and then unlock the passenger doors but not the driver’s door. I assume this is due the deadlock. My keys do not currently operate the central locking, batteries went flat, replaced but them but unable to synchronise so did not bother with this, now wish I had.

Any ideas how I can get this door opened so I can replace the barrel??

The vehicle is an Octavia 52 plate.

Bit late but the tab/paddle on the back of the barrel has sheared off.

Common on VAG
