Cheers for the info.

I thought about cutting the slats out and then putting a fold inwards around the mesh so it slots in where the slats would be..

Headed to castle Combe today for the summer action day. I was really impressed with how the car drove, a combination of everything just made the car feel right.

It was going really well until the second to last lap and bang!!! Sounded like a tyre exploded, but turned out a boost pipe tore itself open, almost into 2 bits!

Luckily my awesome tame mechanic was there and quickly had the car in bits. After a quick trip over to the forge stand, with some reinforcement from Simon(Beryl's chief pilot), I got a replacement pipe from forge's display stand FOC.

Great service I thought. Unfortunately I did miss the second session, but had a great day none the less :)

Just had a nice long drive to Scotland :) over 650 miles. The cabin noise from the vibratechnics mounts was quite noticeable and got a little tiresome after 8 hours in to the journey. The seats proved to be absolutely brilliant. They remained comfortable and supportive the whole journey.

The standard Fabia seats would get uncomfortable after 3 hours

I'll be home Friday :D

Where in Scotland have you gone??

Is the noise while moving or just ticking over?

Near Oban on the west coast at the moment :)

There's some vibration when it's stationary, which vanishes once your driving, but the cabin is louder

Never been there but i've seen the signs plenty of times when i've been in Scotland and head up to Fort William or the Isle of Skye. Enjoy your stay. :)

Without wanting to spam up your thread too much, I find with the White VRS it's rattly until 1,200rpm and then fine.

Considering it's running around 210bhp (not crazy power so no clattery SMF thankfully) I was considering getting a full set of OEM new mounts.

My previous 09 plate VRS didn't have upgraded engine mounts at all, just new OEM ones and that was only uncivilised due to the SMF which got on my nerves after a few months.

Glad the seats are working well.

Good plan. Your welcome to take it for a spin at some point to see how you get on :)

Back from holiday, averaged 55 mpg on the way home. Over 600 miles. It Took 11 hours after diversions, road works and traffic. The seats remained comfortable and supportive.

Mounts settled in more with less vibration at idle? And still got the bucket seats fitted or the leathers back in?
  • Author

There's still some vibration at idle, but not really any worse than the dogbone. I can adjust the idle via vcds apparently which will stop the keys jangling :D

Yes still had the buckets fitted. Didn't get a chance to swap back to the leathers and I'm not sure I really want to now. Not sure what to do.

Nice Charlie!

May be worth trying a red Powerflex bush it'll be just as good at steadying the engine but ever so slightly softer making idle far more pleasant!

For the ~£25 it'd be the thing I'd try!

  • Author

Thanks Josh, I had thought about the powerflex one, may give it a try :)

I have the Red Powerflex one, Charlie, and would highly recommend it.

Very little extra vibrations at idle with a much improved gear shift and easy to fit :)

Just ordered the red powerflex bush. Will see how I get on :)
