Hey there folks!

I would like to hear from people who have purchased JOM Coilovers, as I have purchased budget coilovers in the past and had a pretty rough and terrible time with them.

I would say mines was an isolated situation however, as I know someone else who had budget coilovers in a VAG car and it felt fine compared to my death machine (MX5)

What are they like? Are they worth the purchase?

I am not after a completely harsh ride, but bearing in mind my idea of a harsh ride would be bouncing off the roof of your car like I had to put up with. I just want to lower the car a bit so that it will compliment the new alloys I intend on getting.

Any additional info would be more than welcome.

Begin!

Been running them a year, happy days.

I have them as well, surprisingly comfortable but its a little bit bouncy over wavey bits of road.

Seems to soak up wee potholes without too much drama.

Certainly worth the money in my opinion, but you will need to get the shorter droplinks. I got mine from a 2004 Mondeo Derv.

I'm only 45 miles from you mate if you want a hand fitting them. I could set aside a day sometime.

Agree with all above comments. Pleased with mine. Fitted with polo drop links.

You got a part number and a price for them youngy?

I would be interested in a part number for said drop links also, as I will need to go and get these as well.

i think these because they are shorter than stadard fabia, as a standard item for another car thus priceage is nice  but hopefully someone will be able to clarify soon i hope. My money is on these:

If anyone can confirm the above I would be more than grateful, the sooner I find out the sooner I can order! :)

gobsheene who posted earlier said 2004 diesel mondeo, well 2004 is mkIII and those cover all petrol and diesel engines so im 90% but as i havent got a fabia i wouldnt like you to buy them on my say so.

Anyone confirm these drop links for fabia vrs??????:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-MONDEO-2001-2007-FRONT-ANTI-ROLL-BAR-LINK-RODS-x-2-/360220289996?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Cars+Year%3A2004%7CModel%3AMondeo&hash=item53decd6bcc#ht_1195wt_1039

I'll get you the details when I'm home in an hour or so.

sorry to hijack the thread guys but I was also looking to get these at some point in the future, but I carry some fairly heavy equipment in the back quite regularly, do you think these can take it? I wouldn't have the car completely slammed but just wanted it not to look so much like its on stilts and to improve handling! cheers in advance, Matt :)

ive had 3 heftys in the back and packing, with the rears on heighest setting it was just fine (combined 45-50stone) it was obviosly weighed down alot though

I am in the same situation Matt, I would like my car to look good but at the same time I don't want to sacrifice rear seat usability for stance. I will be looking for a happy medium between comfortable ride and stiffness.

seems to be a bit of a grey area, Iv'e looked on there site under the technical info but doesn't mention any about load bearing which I find strange?!

I think the gear I'm carrying weighs a fair bit more than that Iv'e got a full drum kit in there plus all the stands which weigh a tonne! and on occasion i big speaker! what to do, what to do?!

i'd be surprised if that weighed in at 300+ kg's

Either way, they are harder and stronger than the standard setup so you should expect it to be more able at least

So we can all agree then that the JOM's will be able to bring the car to a lower state than standard yet allow for weight to be in the rear yet still function to a good standard?

I would say yes. It will be hard though by comparison. All i know is im 18 stone and when i get in my car people usually comment that my car doesnt go down at all. and i now have a good bit of travel in them (put it up 15mm, still 55-60mm drop) so much tougher than standard. Handling is great, much improved.

Cool thanks Lofty, good news indeed! I actually spoke to my garage today and one of the guys said it should be fine as long as they are not wound all the way down as they are tougher than standard, will obviously be a harsher ride but they can handle it.

He also suggested taking a look at springs and going down to maybe a 50mm drop, I found these http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/lowering-springs/car/skoda/fabia-00-07-vrs/2005/1-9td-130/koni-lowered-sport-spring-kit-lowers-40mm what you you guys think?

If you get springs you will always wish you got coilovers, a 50mm drop on springs willl ruin the ride and bottom out harshly, coilovers will give you a properly set up ride. And even with a lot of weight in my car hardly dips with my home.

No Problems with mine!!! Good Buget Coilovers in my eyes!!!
