The new Golf is here!

Featured Replies

1.4TSI is being discontinued because it's too expensive to make, however it's still classed as a very advanced engine.

Or maybe to keep repairing? :D

Thats the twin turbo diesel that will have 222bhp - i'm definitely up for one of those.....but not in a Golf as they are silly money.

Sounds good. Not much of a looker though from that picture

Looks dated already to me. Much sexier cars coming

Boring.........

wow, the designers went all out on that one didn't they?!

In fairness they would be mad to radically change it seeing as it is a sales success.

The twin turbo 222bhp diesel sounds promising. Hopefully that may work its way into a VRS in the future.

Well it won't scare the golf buyers. It's certainly a golf.

If it's anything like anything from the MK 3 onwards, it won't deserve the fabled VW reliability reputation that hasn't existed for years.

Doubt it, the vRS will probably share the GTD engine as it does now so it`ll be 177bhp.

The car looks nice, nothing radical, but no worse than the rest of the current offerings.

Yeah, you won't see the Twin Turbo diesel in a vRS.

Though, that 2.0T 220hp/240lb/ft petrol engine that's going in the GTI.......

I guess with a Golf, it's everything you'd expect, so nothing too dramatic!

Worth every penny ;)

Ah the death of the 1.4 tsi ;) still be around in the fabia for a while yet tho :(

It's like the world's hardest game of spot the difference...

And it's going to date, rapidly. The MkV looks ancient already, and the MkVI is not far behind to be honest.

Meet the new golf, same as the old golf.

Ahh I see where your coming from, but it's not too difficult! :p

It's the Porsche school of design approach, definitely. Subtle and slight tweaks to the overall look and feel.

I wouldn't expect anything less from VAG to be honest, with a 'brand' as important to them as the Golf....

And remember if it's not broken don't fix it ;)

Just as boring to look at as the last one.

Electronic "Hand" brake... not a fan.

The Sat Nav screen is huge though!

I wish they would call it something different..... they stopped making proper golfs after the last of the mk2 in 1993.....

You get used to it surprisingly easily. It's when you go back to a normal car and forget.....
