What would my Koni FSD's and Eibach Springs be worth....

Featured Replies

This is not a for sale thread!

if I get to the point where I'm going to sell, I'll list them in the classifieds.

So, I'm think of upgrading (well I hope it would be an upgrade) to a H&R stainless steel coilover kit with adjustable Koni inserts.

My logic is that with firmer dampers and the ride height reduced slightly further I'd get less weight transfer and get the power down better - any impovement in this repsect would be welcome !!

However, before I do anything I need an idea of what I'd be likely to get back on the parts coming off...

..any thoughts ?

Cheers.

I had FSD's and eibachs and also upgraded to some coilovers.

IIRC I got £75 quid for the eibachs which were like new, but i found it hard to sell the used fsds - I ended up taking about £80 quid in the end. Still, better than nothing :)

TBH i probably would have got more for the fsd if i hadn't been so honest about my opinions on they - ie its pretty hard to sell something when you've told everyone you're taking them off 'cos you don't like them!

If that's your reason I wouldn't bother as I doubt it would make a noticeable difference unless they were a lot stiffer.

Well, it's two reasons really,

1) to be able to lower it a little bit more than the current set up, not an awful lot, but enough to make a difference to how it 'sits'

2) The shocks are adjustable, so it could be 'hard' for strip etc and 'soft-ish' for general bimbling about

Well, it's not that I don't like them. but I do think there's better available and I'd kinda like to put my on own stamp on the car too!

I thought I'd get £300 to £400 for the lot via Ebay?, they fit the MK5 golf GTI also so quite a wide audience.

I would be interested in these only up road in glos.

Keep me updated by pm please.

Pete.

Don't think I paid much more for them new??

Really, where from !?

the FSD's are around £480 and the Eibach Spring kit is around £180, I'd include the top mounts which is at least another £40 - so you've got to be talking nearer £700 for the lot new?

Depending on price obviously

Just looked at my invoice from Awesome and they were £500 exc vat so not as cheap as I remember. Maybe I just remember what I told the wife they cost.

I think you'll struggle to find someone willing to part with that much dosh for second hand suspension components TBH but either way good luck with the sale.

I'll be interested in your feedback on the H&R, although it's a bit academic for me now as I've already ordered B16s.. :)

How long have they been.on car for...??

I thought your car (Dave's old one) had an LSD, maybe a Quattro conversion is due.....

Brimma, have you run out of things to paint gold again dude?

I'm a freedom member, have been for years, so will advertise in the classifieds section 'IF' I decide to sell.

Thank you for your totally pointless input once again!

It does yes, a Quaife, I'm really just thinking about doing a few things to 'make the car mine' so to speak!

Thanks for that Grizzle, had an email on 2nd Sept and thought I'd renewed it, but obviously didn't!

Now renewed, cheers.

Absolutely loved the Koni top adjustable + stock springs combo I had on my G60, definitely gonna be going that way when my inserts fail. Hopefully won't be for a while, but already a no brainer when they go. It's the shocks that made a great ride; smaller springs are just for show if you wanna drop your car, and i'm not too interested in that.

Didn't think you were, didn't take it that way

When you can get a B12 kit all in for not much more than the top of what you're thinking second hand, I have to say you're being optimistic.

I'd say £300 would be the top rate for them depending on many miles they've done.
