If you find anywhere you want a bit of info on give me a shout.

I will, thanks. I liked the combination a bit quieter, but still plenty of places to stay :-)

Just booked in my 170 Yeti for first flexible service which maxidot says will be due at 18500 miles and the car two years old. Shopped around to compare prices with the very few reasonably local Skoda dealers and found to my pleasant surprise that Telfords of Carlisle were the cheapest by quite a margin. Indeed I queried the price as it was so cheap and they re- affirmed it. Will take it in on one of my few dates available between holidays - 20 May. £129

If anyone saw Fifth Gear recently, they did a piece about servicing your own car in one of the places where you can hire a bay with car lift and tools, £20/hour was quoted. The guy did a 60 plate Fiesta, oil and filter, air filter and spark plugs, and even with the cost of parts and hire of the bay saved himself £80. But the other reason I'm posting this is, he also said it does not void your warranty if you service your car yourself, as long as you use OE parts, and keep all receipts. I hadn't heard that before, anyone know different?

Also a quick note to Norse, never leave your oil until the warning light comes on, you should be checking it on a regular basis, the same as washer fluid, expansion tank, brake fluid, lights, tyres etc. And if the oil is low on the dip stick, as long as you top it up with the correct oil, there is no problem, it's what it tells you in the handbook.
