Can anyone near Blaydon, North east , map out my EGR?

Featured Replies

Have you not tried cleaning it out? There is a chance it may fail the mot if it is mapped out as the hydrocarbons will be higher.

Originally I had problems, egr was cleaned out, ran fine for 100miles, then - suddenly - black smoke. So I disconnected the egr ..

Mine went thru an MOT fine when my egr valve packed up. Cleared the fault codes before I went in so I didn't fail on the CEL.

Shark performance who did my remap/dpf delete want £100 to remap out my egr. :(

Removing the EGR tends to reduce rather than increase the MOT smoke emissions in my experience.

I've removed the EGR from a few PSA diesels in the past and they all smoked less and passed the MOT smoke test with slightly lower readings as a result. All EGR is supposed to do is reduce NOx emissions, which isn't tested on a UK diesel MOT.

Tried it again and its running fine. An occasional hiccup especially when driving with a very light throttle and accelerating slowly around 1500rpm, but nowt to worry about. Garage guy reckons a lump of carbon had been lodged.

JD Tuning in South Shields can map out your EGR and do a remap for only £175. DPF removal service is also available

Would also recommend Big Fish Tuning in Stokesley, fair distance from Blaydon but John, the guy who runs it, really knows his stuff.
