Getting a bit of a growl

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

I have recently got myself a lovely VRs which runs a dream, very happy with the power. However I am hoping to get a meatier exhaust tone without being chavtastic!

I have seen miltek systems and others of the like but i'm not in the position where i have £300 to throw at the car.

Anyone got any ideas?

I have a power flow back box and it does the job and was only £130 installed

Anyone have any experience of these things? I always thought universal stuff universally fit nothing! lol!

Mind you he's bigger than yer average terror- but at 11 still telling any dog walking past that he's not something to mess with. .But he's soft on a little lady poodle, and a female ****z Shu that constly ignores him

Ooooh now this looks interesting. surely thought the back box is there for a reason, would it not damage the turbo at all. Has anyone run their TDi with a mufflerectomy for some time?

Plenty of people have mate, have a search through the forum, pretty sure I've seen a mufflerectomy thread in te last few weeks :)

I've ran mine for about 3 months now and all is fine.

Ok you got my attention now then, I am thinking of carrying this out. however I have no skills in the welding area, is it possible without welding anything?

Not if you want to keep the standard exhaust tailpipes.

It would be pretty cheap to take it to a garage to do it for you.

When my back box finally goes I may consider doing this. is there much extra noise at idle/low speed?

Phil

There is a little growl on tick over but it doesn't really come into till you floor it.

Mine cost me £70 at a custom exhaust place and that was with twin tail pipes :)
