Sunday is Double din Head Unit day. After fitting a Pioneer AVH 4400 BT in the wife's Furby I needed one for my Octy. As the Alpine with its low powered pre outs sounded rubbish in comparison.

Lloyd kindly drove 160 miles to fit it for me ( see his build thread for why he really ventured to Kent )

Lloyd removed some plastic from the rear of the hole where the head unit goes. This made fitting easier as there are plenty of wires behind the HU and removing the plastic bracing makes installation easier. Even so it's still a tight fit.

Lloyd made short work of the install and the results are fantastic. Cheers Lloyd. Why you worry about doing stuff to your own car is beyond me !

Ouch ! Some scrote bashed into my car and ran away leaving this damage.

I cried a little. Actually a lot ! But a few texts later saw me secure a black magic tailgate from forum member and all round good egg Oet. He kindly also offered help in fitting today and so at about 10.30 this morning I arrived at the residence of Oet in the glorious sunshine to repair my Octy.

All went smoothly all be it fiddly and awkward at times. Hats off to Oet for the supply and help in fitting tailgate. Cheers Buddy.

Needs a polish and also offside rear light unit needs replacing due to damage. And offside area where the light has been pushed in a couple of mm. But I will sort that when I get a new light unit.
